Isn't the price of LPG going to rise substantially though due to an excise adjustment or something?  Or has that already happened?

There was an interesting chart in the courier mail today, stating that fuel has risen 291% since 1980.  In the same period milk has risen 271%, weekly wage has risen 359%, house price has risen 700% & CPI has risen 230%.  On the other hand the price of crude has risen 164% ($A) in the same period.

So although it is a big jump, it's not that significant in the bigger picture - perhaps the it's fact that we have just had it so good for quite a while that makes it seem to be such an impact.

hey tabitha... we have had it so good in comarison to what??

The likes of the increase in average wage and median house price.

Don't get me wrong I'm not real impressed with handing over more beer tokens for the same amount of fuel, but at it's current price it's not really that far out of line.

Am I making sense?

Well if it makes half sense to you then others shouldn’t have a problem :pooh:

The LPG excise thing I was thinking of before is a gradual introduction of excise (was never any on LPG) to match that placed on petrol by 2015. But either way it’s still substantially less than the price of petrol per litre....so just ignore my insignificant dribble

In late December 2003, the Federal Government announced fuel excise reforms, which will ultimately mean motorists using Autogas will pay an extra 12.5 cpl by 2015.

Currently, fuel excise tax does not apply to Autogas, whereas petrol is taxed at 38.14 cpl. Starting in 2011, fuel excise tax will be added to Autogas at a rate of 2.5 cpl. This will increase by 2.5 cpl for five years, until the fuel excise on Autogas reaches 12.5 cpl in 2015. In today's terms, this will mean that in 2015, motorists will be paying approximately 30% more for Autogas when they fill up. However, it is anticipated that motorists using Autogas in 2015 will still be paying significantly less than those motorists who fill up with petrol.
