Hey everyone

just bought myself a BA xr6 non turbo.

I am thiking of upgrading the stereo system as I only have the stock 4 speaker setup.

I was wondering whether a stereo would fit in the socket where the tissue box goes and what other reccomendations poeple have in regards to a stereo. im after a powerful system aswell.

also I would like to know how to replace the speakers in the front door? they are built in speakers and they are in some sort of weird configuration

any help in regards to stereo would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I have fitted a new head unit in this spot as I do not use the ford system.

I have fitted full touch screen 7 inch head unit and dvd player in the slot.

As for front speakers and rear speakers they are 5x7 inch.

There a few better replacements for them or you can fit 6 inch round ones there using base plate. This is what I did.

PS my system is a full digital 5.1 surround system with 2 12 inch subs,6 inch splits front and rear, front screen, 2 xhead rest screens, one 15 inch boot lid screen.

Also for when on show I have 2 x 6x9 speakers in the boot lid as well.

So the people being kidnapped in the boot have something to keep them amused on long trips into the desert :tease:

That sounds killer!

Can we see some pics of the way the head unit is mounted and the boot and eveyrthing you have done in terms of the audio visual. That would be great!

fusion make a 5X7 split that will fit in the doors quite well.I have these and they are ok.

I brought new a pillar covers from ford with the grills for the tweeters in them, like a premium sound set up. these were quite cheap at around $30 each from memory.I mounted the fusion tweeters behind these grills so everything is hidden.

or you could just buy the covers and tweeters from ford, this may be cheaper than the fusion splits.

the stock ford stereo is 100 watts. does this mean that each 5 x 7 speaker in the car is 25RMS?

also does anyone know how many watts/power the stock headset can hold

thanks

What they are is a line converter that you attach to your speaker wires and it than converts the signal into rca so you can hookit upto your amps and than drive better speakers.

Including a sub.

If you do go this way get the best ones on the market or you will get worse sound than standard.
