Hi everyone, Have been lurking here for a while now but have just traded my XR6 NA in on a new BF XR6T Ute. I was told by my dealer here in WA that it has passenger side air bag, is there a way to comfirm this, been a mechanic every air bag I have seen in my work shop has had the words Air Bag on it. The steering wheel has but the cut out for passenger side has nothing on it. Does anyone else have a Ute with passenger side air bag that can comfirm this for me. Just want to know as I wanted one and was told that it was standard.

Thanks in advance.

There should be one there :crybaby:

The BA has it printed on the panel... I'm surprised there's nothing printed on the BF.

Crash into something and let us know if there is one :crybaby:

Yeah not a bad idea :crybaby: I know all the BF sedans have it on there as I looked on the week end, will be pissed if it has'nt as I was going to order as a option if the didnt come standard. Hope its in there for the dealers sake.

Guess I could remove glove box and have a look up there but hate pulling brand new car to bits if I dont have to.

that's know way to treat a new w.a. member.

read the manual and see what that says, if that is no help go to another dealer and get them to tell you what you want to know.

I use lynford motors in ossi park. they have been quite good to me.

Hello 1AXR, have read the manual but all it says is (where fitted) pretty sure regulations state that air bags have to have a lable on them, strange the cars do but they wouldnt put it on the utes, me think I have be told a porky :crybaby: Hope not, will ring lynford and find out.

Thanks.

Bad news, the passenge side air bag is listed as a $495 option on the ford website for the BF XR6T Ute. So it's not standard. Think you better make a call to your dealer.

I hate it when someone gets the stupid reply in before I get the chance :gooff:

As far as I knew they weren't fitted to utes as they have the baby capsule restraint fitted behind the passenger seat. I can't actually recall it even being an option on the BA.

If the dealer can't give you an answer though be cautious doing the old exploratory surgery on your dash - as you may indeed get to see if it works!
