Ba Issues

It seems that my brakes are rubbing as my car does not coast aswell as our BA II XLS ute does.. Also after a spirited drive my car has a burning kinda smell, like hot brakes when I put it in the garage, has anyone experienced this and know what the cause is.

The other issue im having is because I only drive the car a few times a week, sometimes only once a fortnite when I start it, it always seems to idle a little rough, till it gets to running temp then its fine, can this be fixed or is it just because I dont constantly drive the vehicle on a day to day basis.

Cheers :spoton:

That burning smell is quite common after a spirited drive. It's not just brake pads but something else which I'm not exactly sure. I noticed this smell was considerably worse when I had a new gearbox fitted by ford after the last one gave up.

As for the rough idle mine will also do this sometimes when first started. Makes me think the whole cars going to shake it's self to death. But after about 20 seconds it seems to get it's firing order right and come good. I think your problem doesn't sound as bad though. I'd suggest you probably should take it in for a reflash.

Have had rough idle before, rang Ford assist and they said to relock car with remote for 30 secs then restart car. It actually fixed it. I have had this happen quite a few times, locked car & unlocked start and rough idle gone.

I only get rough idle after missing the start properly... like turning the key but not quite long enough and it splutters to a stop, if I try restart it, it will rough idle for a while after.

Never really had rough idle after a normal start though.

I've experienced that in my T and now in the Phoon from time to time. I suspect it'd be related to fuel starvation.

Nah mines an august 04... Plus sadly its only an NA lol.

Neways the brake issue was just in my head I think, drove it to work today and it all seems good..

Still started a bit cold this morning, I think ill have to take it in and get a TB service and reflash.
