what a crock of sh*t, only a few incidences of damage by passing bike whilst stopped at the lights so lets ban it. When are we gunna ban shopping trollies, for f*cks sake u jelous bunch of sooks. Dont go the "my mate was killed line" cause we chose to ride these thing fully aware of the dangers (I have been on life support twice now but still chose to ride) I DONT agree with lane splitting while the traffic is moving, ever. When its stationary, go for your life just dont take off like a nanna. I have had a car door opened on me in stationary traffic, and this *beep* tried to play the victim after I punched the piss out of him. I see more cockheads in cars than I ever have on bikes, so f*ck it lets ban the cars too....

here here :bringiton:

I say you shouldnt be able to overtake any car ever while driving(not riding) as this is a dangerous practice :bringiton: ... even when granma is doing 10kph on the freeway.

just wait till the gov. has his way with everything we do, we will all be living in houses with padded walls, wearing straight jackets, driving VW beetles, wearing flannel shirts and growing beards.

I wonder who will complain then??

just remember all the governoment wants is to have all the population under their watch all the time... can anyone say communism? cos I have a feeling that that's where we are headed if we just keep letting the government do what they want.

I have a Suzuki Fronte 360cc 2 stroke car (as a bit of a weekend toy most of the time, but I have used it to commute). In many cases I take off faster than most cars from the lights, even though it is pathetically underpowered. That is because most drivers are not in a hurry, and dont accelerate fast, I choose to as I enjoy it.

Should I be allowed to jam my way into a gap when cars are stopped at lights so that I can be at the front? The car fits - so why not? Why are bikes allowed to, and not me?

I dont like bikes pushing in front of me at the lights in any car. If they want to pull up and be next to me, that's fine. I have had many a race against a bike from the lights, some get a fright, others enjoy the competition. I think bikers all too often assume that all cars are slower than them.

I have many friends who ride bikes, and heard many of them complain about people not seeing them, but in many cases it is partially their fault that they arnt seen, travelling at 50% faster than other traffic, splitting, filtering etc etc are all things that people arnt necessarily looking for.

How many p!ssed off bikers have actually done anything about this, ie contacted the relevant authorities?

Or would you all rather have a big  in here, which is serving exactly *beep* all purpose to a solution?

Thought so.

As a ex-bike rider, and a current phoon owner, think how many more cars would be in your way if there was no advantage in traffic of having a motorbike..and all riders bought a car.

Yes, you do get poor bike riders, just like poor car drivers, but that doesn't call for yet more legislation preventing *reasonable*, low speed filtering.

There are already laws in pace for bike that make dangerous manouvres. Let's have a vote in favour of people taking responsibility for their own actions, and not having another bloody law passed...
