Have had my rapid for a week now and have clocked up 400km's. It is a joy to drive and gear box is getting smoother by the day. Had one incident yesterday when, going up steep incline (driveway ) in first..it stalled and when I restarted it, it was ticking over at about 800 and very lumpy. When I used accelerator it would't rev. just ticked over with no response. After freewheeling it back down driveway onto level ground (embarrasment!!!) I restarted and it was ok.

Any ideas??

John.

The cams get 'stuck' sometimes.

Sounds like a stupid explination, but it's the one Ford gave me..

Generally stopping and restarting fixes them.

Might have been that.

My XR6T did that 10 times in 80000k's

The phoon has done it once in 19000k's

I think the car starts in a semi - limp mode... For whatever reason.

Must have detected a fault (due to stalling) and needs a second or 2 to clear the fault..

Maybe...

Twice for my T, with a strange chattering noise to go with it. Stop and restarted it and all was OK.
