If you want to "free flow" the cat why may want to consider getting an exhaust place to remove your cat (in tact)and replace it with with a section of pipe.

Shouldn't cost any more than $50 and that way the whole thing is reversable.

So what was done to fix it? Can you alter the sensitivity of the knock sensors?

The sensitivity can't be altered. The amount of timing that will be removed in any one event can be and it can be a different value at any point in the rev range.

There less aggressive is a good way of describing it I guess.
