Morning All,

I was talking to my old man the other night regarding his choices for a new car. He is keen on the new BMW 550 that is to be released soon or the Porsche Cayman.

He currently has an M5 which he loves and I also think is an awesome machine.

I suggested to him that maybe he would be best off to do some mods to his current ride and keep that.

I know that this is not the correct forum but does anyone know or can they recommend who to talk to in Brisbane regarding upgrade packages for his M5 as he he seems pretty hot on this idea.

I suggested maybe he look at turbo or s/c and tune the motor to around 400 - 450 KW.

All opinions are welcomed!

Syco,

Tell him to have a look at www.m5board.com and search for the word Australia.

There is a supercharger kit for them from a guy in Brookvale NSW, but I do not know why he would want to do anything to it.

I gather its a E39 M5, which is one of the best cars ever made. I would leave it and just enjoy it.

The Brakes are the only real weak point.

trade it on a new E60 M5 or and E55...I'd prefer the E55 personally...

but yeah plenty of german tuning house can do supercharger kits for it, which could net you up to about 550-600hp...but then you're going to have clutch problems...so you're probabily better off just trading up...

Probably any of the dyno tuners will be able to help, Brisbane tuning and turbo do a lot of high end stuff
