I have a Nokia 6610 which is ok but Im sick of how dust gets into the screen so often and so much. Plus the screen is small and ordinary compared to todays offerings.

Anyone recently bought a phone? Any tips on good ones or ordinary ones? Im prepared to pay up to 550ish. 800 absolute max.

So far the 2 candidates I like are Samsungs - D600 slide (very new) and E730 flip.

D600 link

E730 link

Motorola V3 - should I avoid or is it ok? the keypad looks like a dirt, dead skin catcher.

I've got a Motorola V3 myself... Best phone I've ever owned (OK not a big call as I haven't owned to many phones...) but I've also spoken with others who have a V3 and they like them as well...

Well out of those two it would have to be the D600. As for v3, either u love them or u hate them! personaly I would never go for a Motorola, too much lag and not enough features.

At the moment, I would personaly go for a SonyEricsson K750i or W800i, in my opinion the best two phones out at the moment.

this would have to be my ultimate phone for now, but its taking forever to come out!! I need a nu phone also, been too bloody patient with my nokia 8310!!!

I just got the Sony Ericsson p910i for around $800.00 (but you will normally pay $1400.00 if not buying online)

It's one of these so-called "smart phones" that has all of the inbuilt PDA stuff as well which saves lugging around a pocket PC and a phone. It is a bit bigger than a normal phone but couldn't be happier with the little sucker.

But then if all you want is a simple phone then this probably is not for you!

The ultimate Nokia N91

I did sell phones for a living until today, so if you want my professional advicehere it goes.

The Nokia N91 is an awesome phone as quoted above however expect price to be btw $1000 to $1499.

The motorola v3 however is an excellent phone currently use one myself and never had any probs, sold heaps of them. And can be bought ebay or locally from $500 and up.

(for all you Motorola owners heres a simple tip if for some reason you get locked out of your phone book enter 1# and look for the entry that you entered that isn`t complete and either enter a name or delete that entry. I.e phone number without a name. This is the only bug I have seen on the motorola if you don`t put the name in as well as the number it lock you out of the address book)
