Bp 95ron Ethanol Mix Fuel

Okay guys, another forum member has stated that there are a few of you are currently using this fuel with fantastic results - it's only just become available in the ACT. I understand it's also meant to have a higher octane rating than Ultimate 98, but that this fact is not publicly advertised (for obvious reasons!).

What I wanna know is who's using it, what mods does your car have, and what results are you getting? Particularly interested in those with Edit, better still, those who have been Wog tuned!

Yeah, that would be United Petroleum. I spoke to the NSW Sales Mgr a few weeks back and he said they were opening, or had just opened in the ACT.

Product is "Boost 98".

Ethanol has higher RON (& MON) than petroleum based, but less energy per litre (some 30% less I think - but this is only 10% of the mix of course). I think Ethanol has a RON of 105 or 102?.

So 'Boost 98' it appears it has higher octane than normal 98 RON fuel, maybe only 2 MON, a bit cheaper, but more litres will be used per kilometre.

Heaps of info all around including this forum.

Test by (accidentaly released) by MRT in conjunction with Sydney Uni showed Boost 98 provided better dyno results on a specific car - thorough test protocol - than any other of the so called 98 RON fuels. Second place was my long choice, gald to hear it, being Caltex Vortex 98.

I will try it when I find it in Sydney (or happen to be near one of the outlets).

Probably a good thing to try but you would want to test it with a relevant tune to take advantage of timing issues etc.

Ooops, just noticed your thread HEADING is BP 95 + Ethanol.

BP do it in certain areas.

I'd assume this would be closer to a petroleum based 98 RON.

Anyway, the info should be useful (and look for the Boost 98).

I use the 10% ethanol 98 available from Freedom Fuels in Brisbane.

I only use the one service station to buy this, but I've had excellent results on it. The car runs better on it tha BP Ultimate (which is the best fuel in Brisbane).

Give this fuel a try if you can get it.
