Here's some advice ( though I'm sure you already knew )...

Don't go to a dealership to try and get a trade in. I was offered $16000 for my BA XT Falcon.

Sounds fair you say? My BA is a 5.4L V8, Acid Rush, sitting on 19's. It has been to Herrod's and had the exhaust and extractors put on by them. It is slightly lowered. It's a 2002 model with only 65000k's. It has more power than a standard XR8 (mine having @270kw).

Sounds great. Looks great.

But I want a turbo now...

Getting only $16000 for mine, looks like I won't be getting one for quite a while...

dealers dont want trade-ins, they want you to come in, lay down the cash and go. so they are going to make it worth they're while to do a trade in, meaning they offer you bugger all and then sell it for a massive profit. always better to sell privately if you can.

Honestly mate if you are already pulling around 270 kw why bother with a T. You have already put some money into your car and more than likely if you get a T you will once again want bigger wheels, exhaust and lowered suspension. If you want more get up and go then get the V8 supercharged and leave most T's in your wake.

Muz

Yeah... but the V8 can be expensive to run. I would also like to move to leather interior, premium sound, different colour and of course the 6spd manual. I will be keeping my wheels if I trade anyway. Have 2 sets of wheels for my Falcon at the moment (both worth over $3500).

I had a shock when I spoke to a dealer about trading my 4/04 XR6T in for a BF F6.

My car has 25k km, lightning strike, manual, luxury pack with leather, tint and 17". They said high $20's to low $30's for the tradein. Nice to know that my car has halfed in value in 18 months.

I do not blame Ford for this as ALL second hand cars seem to be selling for 30% less than they should be.

I did not want to post in your for sale post BAXTCHROME, but I doubt you can expect anything near $30k for your car, when newer higher spec cars are selling for less.

then I was offered $39K for a 1.5 yr old 350Z Track with 23,000kms on it, brand new RRP would have been $65,990 + onroads!!!

gotta love depreciation !!!! il be keepin my F6 for a long time....

I agree, if you want more grunt supercharge it or whatever, and if your worried aboutt he consumption of fuel, the T aint no better.
