[F6 UTE]

Well number 11 has done 11,000k's in 11 weeks..

All in all a pretty good results from the big barge, not too much to worry about, It has a vibration in the tailshaft at 2200 rpm and the brakes are stuffed.. Well, the brakes were stuffed when I bought it, Ford tried to fix it, can't find whats wrong, need it back to start replacing things, but I need it on the road, so catch 22.. Maybe it'll get done on it's 15k service.. Gearbox is a little notchy still.. I don't mind, it's not 'bad' and the feel of it is acceptable. F6Tornado put some good oil in her , ( the gear type!! ) so she should get a tad better in the next week or so..

I do 'crunch' 4th though on the odd occasion.. Not thru quick changes or thrashing it, but the nature of the box means you have to 'slot' it firmly into gear.. If your too 'slight' on the gear change, she grinds.. hope it's not clutch related..

Tyres, they're half gone... Rotors have an edge on 'em and they came with the squeel.. oh, and I had a cracked foggie after 5000k's

One thing I have noticed, they grey paint on the front splitter is dismall. It looks as though I used the front of the car to scoop up gravel.. The paint is damn thin, and it's obvious the bar was red, with a lick of grey splashed over it.. Not too impressed, but it's easy to repaint I spose..

Fuel economy has been pretty poor, maybe because the power has been good, so I don't mind. Once she's fine tuned she'll be a nice streetable package, (not that it isn't now that is).. Not a drag strip terror, nor a track day warrior, but will serve both purpopses as far as I want it to..

Prolly needs some better pads and fluid, so I'll look into those when they are due..

Little things that erk me, well the BA blind spots are still there, hope they get those sorted with the next model... My wedding rings catches on the grey 'circle top thing' on top of the gear lever.. The bing bing bing bing bing bing fcuking bing all the time, they upped the bing factor in the MKII I see!!! Gearbox noise on acceleration from a standstill is embarrasing sometimes.. ppl look at you as if the box is going to fall thru the floor!

But for a big, Aussie built car, she's done well, and turns heads all the time.. Had one kid stand gawking at me as I drove thru a car park, I stopped, jumped out and he asked if he could take photos with his fone.. I said sure, and he went banannas, just kept on mumbling 'insane, insane'.... hehe..

I have done 3500k's in mine and so far so good.

Only problems I had are the glovebox did not open from new, and today, the steering wheel adjuster handle just flopped down (The nut that holds it is loose).

Apart from that, I love thrashing the crap out of it.

The gearbox is sensational IMO. The clutch is also very good but requires a bit of practice to perfect a launch. (Till this date, I have not lost a race against a Holden, even from a standing start VZ-SS + VZ UTES...No Problem!!)

The most dissapointing part of the vehicle is that the engine seems too relaxed - Underworked!! - I know this could be fixed up with edit, but I would have liked more power from Ford!!!

All in all, compared to my previous car (A Expensive Daewoo SS ) The F6 is a sensational allrounder with a 13.2 ET to prove it.

We must never forget that we are talking about an Australia made taxi here!!

Funny you mention that mate!!! On the FPV day I missed 4th gear about 3 times down the straight and usually I have no problem with it..

In mine when I shift from 2nd to 3rd sometimes you can hear the synchro squeal just a tad and I gather its from passing the 1st gear gate and just enough to apply a tad of pressure on the 1st gear sync as you gate past it on the way to 3rd!!!! All in all My box is nice and smooth.

Just too many damn gears I think ahhahahahaha
