I think this is the exception rather than the rule.Cant hurt to ask the question... who knows. As for additives I was told not to add anything to the diff , auto is another matter. This from one of Sydneys more reputable tuners.

I've been driving the car for a week and the new diff is twice as worse as the other one.The original one just whinned at 80Km/h but this one does the same thing but it also growls at 100Km/h and clunks.

Suggest you leave the lubricant mix in the replacement alon as well as mine was certainly 'different' with aditives already in it. All is now quiet.Dingah
