..without wishing to sound like ARL commentator..how does it feel? Initially mine post-mod had a 1-2 change that was akin to being thumped in the back by a fence post so the solenoid 'wick' has been turned down since then to make it more driveable. Seems near impossible to get a balance between firm shifts in all gears under load versus a smoothish 1-2 under light load.

Auto Upgrade pricing all depends on how much power you have..

The auto is weak and needs to be upgraded extensively. I had bad problems as far as Auto transmissions go, mostly due to power upgrades being available but no real automatic transmission solution as far as strengthening went.

I blew 3 autos in 2 years and 50 000. The modded auto I blew had extensive mods done to the valve body, bands and sun gears at a cost of about 3k. Even with these mods it didn't last 5000km with power of around 300rwkw. I am still waiting for a answer regarding my warranty after around 4 months.....

I hope the new six speed will be a much more reliable unit..

The auto is quite strong and cheap to modify to get it to hold. You just gotta to know what to do. A transmission mob can rebuild it a million times but if they dont know some tricks they are wasting their time. It should hold with 300rwkw unless your very hard.

You can also get the trans shifting softly under cruise and hard under load. Once again all tricks.

But you'd have to have a pretty nice looking sister who would be prepared to do me a few favours to find out how.

Does the auto still shift smoothly at low speeds ie. traffic and light throttle openings with this mod????

Thanks
