Camber & Caster

hi ppl,

just had my T in for a wheel alignment the guy said that my camber/caster was quite bad.

I havent run up any gutters or anything either..

here is what I got on the stat sheet

Camber LT: -0.35

Camber RT: -0.23

Caster: LT: 7.82

Caster: RT 7.40

he also said that it looks like a manufacturer fault, anyone else had this problem?

booked in to ford next week to see if there is any problem there...

Mine was the same, they had to use shims to get the alignment right. Might be common from the factory?

Those figures are within spec just with a quick glance at them. I'm assuming these are what they've set it at now? The car should drive fine. It's a pity they couldn't get the RH camber down to zero but hey, it's pretty close.

A little bit of negative camber is absoulutely fine. What is the issue?

I think he was more concerned about the high caster readings

it is driving fine now though, so im happy!

I don't think those castor readings are excessive. What does you handbook say they should be? Maybe for the standard cars about 5??? I think the FPV cars are up around 7. It gives you more feel through the wheel. Works very well with stiffer springs and stiffer anti-roll bars so I wouldn't be going any lower than 7 - just upgrade the rest of your front end to suit and you'll feel a big improvement in handling.
