Had a run against a 911 Carrera in my XR6T (on private roads) *cough* on Sunday night thought I would share with you all.

I was at the lights on a certain road in Perth and this guy in his early 90's 911 turned the corner onto the same road as me, planted it and took off into the distance. I was quiet impressed with the way this thing sounded, I am sure it would have been modified, It had a huge spoiler with Carrera GT badge on the back, not sure what the GT part means. Anyway I took off from the lights drove for a k or so to see him waiting at the next set of red lights.

Pulled up next to him and he gave it a nice rev, so I thought "here we go, I am gonna get creamed here, but I'll give it a go anyway". Light goes green we were both about even in first gear until the boost came on and I started pulling away, kept hammering all the way to around 180kph, by this stage I was about 3 car lengths in front.

Couldent belive I beat a 911 carrera, even if it was on older one. We both turned onto another road and he pulled up next to me at about 60 and we both nailed to once again my orange beast pulled away cleanly.

Next lights he gave me filthly look and turned off, I just gave him the thumbs up and laughed.

I am quite happy with this result as he was driving a $200,000 car and I was driving a $45,000 car with unichip only

I have fallen in love with the turbo all over again.

I like a red light squirt but Id never go to 180. To the limit +10 at most. Congrats on the win, just make sure you dont turn into a statistic old chap.

If it was an early 90's model it would have an air cooled motor, hence the awesome sound. They sound really raspy, so it may not have been modified at all.

Yeah I was actually more worried about getting caught on the double demerit points w/e. Prolly lost my car and get thrown in jail, was all worth it for the look on his face though
