Unwanted Diff Whine

Hi Guys,

Have read some threads about diff whines. Just want to know how Ford has fixed this problem. My T was built in December and had a diff whine from day dot. It whines from 92 to 97 kms/hr. Ford has replaced diff twice and now tailshaft and centre bearing but whine is still there. It appears all T owners must have this whine then. Hope there is a fix out there.

I have no "whine" whatsoever at any speed, my "T" is an auto, 8000k's just wondering if the whine has any relationship to the transmission I.e auto or manual??I'm no mechanic but just curious.

I have an Auto no diff whine 5000kms now. Only whining I get is to slow the f&*k down!!! ( from the not so optional airbag )

Thank you for your response my T is running a auto transmission.

Yeah I have a diff whine at the same speed range. It is noticable but not too intrusive so I am not concerned. Auto with 2200K's.

As you may have seen from other threads, I have the diff whine at the same speed intervals as you. Diff has been replaced once, which made it worse!

So far NO FIX

Any updates or recent feedback on diff or wheel bearing whine problems?

My auto T whines from 95 to 100 kms/hr - it is an April build - and started to whine a week after I drove it home. I took it back to the dealer, and they tried to tell me it was my wheels causing road noise - but I have had friends sitting in the back - and they said it sounds like a noise coming from the centre of the diff, or even a wheel bearing noise. It seems to be only within that power range, and is now really annoying for a car that cost me $50,000!! After reading all your posts - I'm a bit worried about it since people's problems are getting worse after getting diff's changed.

I know there are many different topics with the same sort of problem - however does anyone know a fix for the problem - other than dealers beating me around the bush avoiding a warranty issue?
