Is this a standard thing from FORD?

I got a call from someone in the know about my car.

Apparently im looking at mid June before I will get my car!?

The Sunroof can take up to 2 weeks just to get put in.. And its not even done by FORD!

I was told that Turbo's arent usually lined up to be made like the XT's and such. They only make them on order...

So my friend is looking around for a white 6 speed T with premium sound and we will organise it to be transferred to the dealer im buying from. (I dont like my chances though) and then we will get the leather/sunroof done at a later date...

Im pretty off that ordering a car can take so bloody long!

I know in the early days it could take up to 3 months (what a joke) but sure they would have sorted their out by now...

ya mine took 3 months and here is a breakdown of my saga

ps the sunroofs are done at fpv and mine took 2 days get ford to install if there is any damage like if it leaks etc its covered by ford

also get the lux pack its fantasic

PART 1

I was supose to pick up my xr6 with lux pack sunroof etc tonight but they made a mistake and it was suppose to have red stiching and logos but its been supplied in gray and it looks crap we are in the process of getting it sorted out the sales manager has been very good about it so far I just hope its sorted out soon and not have to get the car reorded not HAPPY

PART 2

well I am getting new seats with red stiching and logos they have had to buy a new car from a dealer in sydney and get it trucked to adelaide so it will be another week or so till I get it

PART 3

it was a special order lux pack with sunroof the stock controller and the sales guy made a error with the discription on the trim on the order so human error but the sales manager has hopfully got it all sorted he seem a genunie honest guy I just hope its all sorted .I have just remembered 1 thing the sales guy rang me saying the car wasnt going to be ready till next week this was before I spoke to the sales manager so I knew were the car was being stored just around the corner from work so I poped around to see what the problem was and the first thing I saw was my new xr6 with no rear bumper bar what the ****s going on I ask the boss there he wasnt to happy me being there and said he was going to rip the sales guy a new arse what it truned out to be there was 2 very tiny flaws in the paint and they were repairing it before I got it ,the manager stated thay do about 15% of the car that goes thru so there paint qc at ford needs a good kick up the arse .

so 12 morrrreee days to go before its going to be ready

PART 4

well it looks like they are changing the seats the cars in there holding yard waiting for the other car to arrive then the seat will be changed then I can have it

PART 5

back for warr repairs a rattle exhurst fixed loose bonnet now out of aligh

pass seat squicking not fixed

losted two center caps on wheels still waiting on replacment they have fallen off

bonnet needs repainting rust spot in paint

If you end up fitting leather later, I can highly recommend Blackmans Leather for a custom job. I had purple and charcoal leather put in mine and they did a fantastic job. About $2700 for the seats and door panels.

Mine took 3.5 weeks from the day I ordered it to the day I drove it out the dealer. And I was told it would take 4 weeks, so they exceeded themselves. I also got nearly 8 grand off the sticker price, so go figure.

Mine took Seven Months, that is back when they were first released, now that's a wait!!!

My XR6 Turbo took about 3 months to get here and my GT was supposed to be here 2 weeks ago. Now been 8 weeks of waiting and the car is still down in Melbourne

Mine took 3 days.

Seen it on the showroom floor. Just waiting for a home, so I paid a deposit and they took it around the back and started preping it.
