So if you replace the standard unit with the likes of a turbosmart, you may run out of room.In essence the standard unit, the air enters the side and out the bottom. If you hook your new one up the same it won't work. Air enters the bottom and exits from the side. With some of the turbosmart ones I have seen they are very long, the Stealth FX is much stumpier and therefore fits in the standard location without any problems.I think that makes sense.Adam Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16772-blow-off-valve/page/3/#findComment-239827 Share on other sites

Any power loss or change in the way the engine behaves would have nothing to do with the BOV, more the cange to the induction piping itself. And that setup would be illegal! The cops have every right to do you for your BOV, because it has the ability to vent to atmosphere, even if it's not set to. And by the sounds of it, you have it set to vent anyway. You think the cops are going to let you adjust it to plumback when they pull you over? The only problem you have is when you try and vent it to atmosphere without blocking the return pipe. I had issues with it venting to atmo.Plugged the return, lost boost. Unplugged the return (Put a filter on it) and got boost back, BUT, fuel use went up substantially.Returned it to factory spec, all back to normal.I experimented with it over a few days, with same results each time I tried it. So if the cops aren't pulling over every XR6 on the road, then they aren't going to pull mine over, I think they are more concerned with VLs LOL!
