Streeet Tuner, or anyone for that matter.

I am about to trade the ute in on a sedan and I need to know if the flasher that I have for my current 5 speed manual is ok to be used on the 6 speed mark 2??

Thanks :spoton: I cant see any reason why I couldnt, but want to be safe rather then sorry :glad:

just read a capa advertisement in performance fords mag and it says "box can be transferred to next BA when owner updates car"

So, I guess that answers my own question :spoton:

Reload the stock program in your car, then go see Powertorque and get them to 'clear' the Flasher for you. Have them upload the series II turbo files and away you go :)

Thanks :spoton:

ST, what sort of cost is involved??

Macka, The "Wog" is also offering a free tune I believe IF you have an Auto at the moment. (And you have an Auto (of sorts :) ) FYI.

Street Tuner, What sort of cost is involved? Will they just upload them or will all the customers with a mark 1 be charged for the service to empty the flasher and upload the new files??

Thanks

Tuner,

I picked this up over on another forum and would like to know if it is accurate. It states that Ford has defined error codes that will detect changes to the ECU.

"These error codes come straight from the ECU, nothing else needs to be done to generate them, other than use a SCT, Herrod, Capa flash tuner.

1205 comes straight from the ECU once you use a flash tuner.

1205 indicates its a herrod tuner.

1206 indicates a Capa tuner."

Thanks,

Luke.

Errr no mate. Its all made up. Some good imaginations out there though.

Unless of course the PCM can use visual ID optical recognition techniques through a hidden camera under the dash to see the different sticker on the CAPA box versus the Herrod box, as other than that they are identical firmware. :)

I have injectors and edit. If I go to ford with my mild tune program and they flash my car, does the edit need to be sent back to SCT or I just upload another program as soon as I drive out of Ford. Also how bad would it be driving with the factory tune but with bigger injectors.

I have gotten 1205 on most but not all ocations with my scanner when the edit has been installed this 1205 code refers to a t/c error

in essence no ford cant tell you have edit but they can asume this due to the 1205 code as it is under only certain circumstances that it occurs.

this ocurs even with the t/c fix supplied by capa

how ever there is a fix being developed that is so far lets say 90% effective thus 90% stealth to ford. it has been undetectable by my scanner since I devised it! this still need to be checked by ford and I still need to test it on more cars but good news coming for those who want their waranty to be intact!!!!

if the last paragraph is deemed to be a no no please adise me and remove it!
