what a pain it is to fix the hand brake setup on xr6ts when they are seized. geeas h/brake was noisy and one of the last things to do b4 his trip to kick butt!!!!

what was concerning though was the amount of distortion / out of round disk h/brake surface was its nowonder they squeal in car parks etc it was also concerning the amout of rust seizing things in such a new car!

I had a bit of break noise like that as well yesterday. I took it back to the dealer and they sorted it. Its a bit embarrasing driving slow and its squeeling quite loud. Never mind fixed now.

I agree it Shouldnt happen to a new car in saying that.

I had mine back to the dealer 3 Times to fix this problem. It kept comming back after a few days. I ended up fix it myself when I fitted my PBR Brake kit. The RH Side disc was causing the noise on mine. The dealer had fixed the problem 3 weeks prior and I found the adjuster was seized and I had problems getting the disc off the hub. Judging by the amount of dust and dirt on the inner disc I doubt whether they did anything at the dealer. All fixed now 3 months driving scrape free.

Brake scraping in carparks all gone and the handbrake works for the first time in ages too.

Thanks Nick for spending the time to get it all sorted. Nick has all the equipment on hand to machine the drums and the disc and fix the brake scrap problem. Its amazing how much out of round the drum is.
