Hey all, new here, First post....

I am grabbing myself a BA ute, XR6T or Tornado early next year ( delivery permitting ).

Question,

I am unsure as to go--

fully loaded XR6T with leather, brakes etc, lowered, exhaust and 18/19's.... oh and the bulging bonett! or

get a Tornado with Leather. Difference in price is ~ $5/7K Depending on options

As far as performance goes, not really an issue, but some poke would be nice :w00t2: ..

Ute will be driven around 55/65 k's Per annum, so not sure on runnin costs on a Tornado???

I'm takin the XR8, XR6T and Typhoon for drives in the near future..

One gripe though, Whats with no Prem audio in Ford utes?? an no climate??

tnx all, comments appreciated.

xrt ute I have premium sound in my ute! just no sub or amp but that's easy fixed.

The utes only come with the prestige sound. Not the premium. ie no colour screen, sub or amp. Sux I know. From what I gather the sub sux anyway so an aftermarket would be prefered, but the colour screen would be nice. Watching dvd's, xbox etc. I wonder if one can be fitted afterwards and with how much trouble?

Anyone know?

Thanks

Chris

An aftermarket screen could be fitted without too much hassle but not the in dash colour screen used with premium sound. It should still look neat but would be a flip out model or simliar rather than the neat in the dash look.

You would get your $5/7k back easily in resale on the Tornado IMO and be driving a quicker, better looking and less common FPV in the process. Don't know how a lease situation would change any resale benefit.

If you want an Auto the Typhoon and Tornado are not much use, as they are manual tranny only.

I'm aware of the 6 spd situation, and I would grab a manwell anyday.. cars that are 'driven', are manuals, imo..... ( bracing for flame .... ) I also hate the auto I have in my BA atm, it's too slow, takes forever to shift down, and between D & R takes an eternity to change.. It's not all about the up-shift guys..

Drags aint for me, been there done that.. get's too boring too quick....

Depreciation is my friend :spoton: so resale ( trade ) isn't all that much a problem, she's only mine for 2/3yrs.. But then who would buy a Tornado that's 2/3yrs old with 125k on it and no warranty?? not me.....

This is why I have the drama, I love the look of the Tornado ( must be a ute ) but a nice XR6T with rims and dropped suspension also has it's merrits.

no TFT on either is pretty poor for $50K ++ and the SS ute gets climate atleast..

Anyway would be good, but sounds like your gonna drive it into the ground. I loaded up the Mk2 and its all good.

I suspect the FPV job to be a bit more than 5/7K difference. I looked at the F6 over the XR and it was more like 9k difference (but that was before that were released)

Good luck with your decision. :spoton:

I think you will only be able to make up your own mind after you test drive them all, but if power isnt an issue got with the xr6T, with some nice rims a lowering job and the bulge bonnett you mentioned it will still look horn, even next to a tornado.

Dazza.
