I've only ever tried Optimax so I find it a bit difficult to understand how some of you guys claim to be able to tell the difference. My T certainly has days when it feels better than others but my best bet is that its environmental rather than the fuel. Aren't all these fuels susceptible to "bad batches"?

Maybe we could get a few guys to fill each others T and see if they can all tell which fuel is which. Throw in Trumpy's Juice to make it interesting.

Here in Adelaide, we only have 2 98RON fuels: Mobil Synergy 8000 and BP Ultimate. I use both and have never noticed a difference between the two.

I have had good and bad experiences with all four 98 ron fuels (Optimax, Ultimate, Synergy and Vortex).

It is more important to only buy from a servo with a high turnover of their particular 98 fuel as it goes off if it sits in the tank for too long.

Optimax has a marketing campain which appears to have worked well for Shell,

I tend to find Ultimate slightly better. But I've never used Vortex or Synergy as the servos don't all carry it.

Dam right, I picked up a bad batch on the sth coast NSW on a trip (not in the T), cost me $$$ :spoton:

Funny thing was that the Servo was my brother-in-law's!! He doesn't get much for X-mas anymore!

Come to WA, and you can have a choice of Ultimate 98 or Ultimate 98.

So I am using Ultimate 98 and it works fine.

SOmeone did a test a while back (might of been BP) comapring the various 98RON fuels in a XR6T and found Ultimate to be the best. Could of been biased if BP was doing it though. :crybaby:

The only 98RON within cooee of me is Optimax so I use that whenever possible.

Here here.

I go to a BP that has a big turnover and have never had a problem (in a Clevo mind you).

I reckon you all should use Vortex98.

I work for Caltex and the more you use means my job is safe, so I can keep my T
