Guest Lowndes Crazy Guests Posted 17/04/03 04:51 AM Share Posted 17/04/03 04:51 AM Can't wait. The closest I have been to an XR6, XR6T or XR8 is seeing them on the road, or at Summernats! So I'm really looking forward to it! Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-17884 Share on other sites

Guest Tancxr6 Guests Posted 17/04/03 06:45 AM Share Posted 17/04/03 06:45 AM My mate just picked up his Blueprint XR8 ute (new company car, B*****D!), so he's coming along too, so we can all show him that the T is a much better car. :flippingfinger: LOL!! Just kidding.I actually got a quick blat around the block at lunch today, and I must say, that is by far the sweetest exhaust note of any stock Aussie car I have ever heard.I think I know the one youre talking about. one of your mate's workmates, or boss (don't know), actually came into my work today about 3pm and he was driving it. blueprint XR8. the guy that came in (one of our clients), said that one of his workmates just picked it up today and he was taking it for a bit of a burl. looks very nice c u on sunday guys Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-17901 Share on other sites

Full marks to Gregorys for getting it to me prior to Easter with all the options / accesories fitted. I'd post a photo but other events took over - the matching blueprint number plates look outstanding :D The bad news is that it didn't make it home :( The Wife was driving along through Narrabundah, the audio went out, the ABS warning light came on and then it stopped. Dead, wouldn't kick over, flat battery symptoms. Called Gregory's and Ford Assist - they arranged for it to be towed. It appears to be a dodgy alternator - the tow guy could get it started but the battery wasn't charging. So we spent an enjoyable hour sitting outside Pete's Golf Connection - I've read the owners manual and the service book, played with the stereo, adjusted the seat & mirrors but haven't driven the thing!!!!And because of the Easter break we won't see it until Tuesday - GFITC were very good though and arranged a loaner to see us through the weekend.Enjoy the drive and the BBQ people - we tried to make it :( Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-17975 Share on other sites

At leastr it's just an alternator (why couldn't they fit one off another car?). As I was reading through your post I thought you were going to say that the car was involved in an accident. Whew, had me going there for a mo. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-17994 Share on other sites

I guess there's no tyre places open this Sunday in Canberra(I already have a spare tyre, just needs fitting.) Do you guys think that foam stuff would hold up for the weekend or should I just go full ugly and use the spare?Rob Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-18027 Share on other sites

Do you guys think that foam stuff would hold up for the weekend or should I just go full ugly and use the spare?Rob DON'T USE THE FOAM!!!!It is illegal to repair a tyre after that stuff has been in a tyre because it can deteriorate the rubber on the inner walls. Bite the bullit and use the spare. At least then the tyre may still be repairable. That stuff should only be used when you have no other choice. We'll just take pics of the other side of the car. :D Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1440-canberra-xr-cruise-bbq/page/7/#findComment-18033 Share on other sites

I bought the foam anyway, but I won't use it. I've put air back in the tyre and it seems to be holding for now, so hopefully there will be somebody around here tomorrow who can put one of my other tyres on. It had to happen on a long weekend didn't it.
