guys my boost gauge I fitted is reading 6psi on my xr6t and its stock as my car only has k&n air filter????? any one have the same reading ??

I know that 4psi is the normal, and like ford have a fix for it, but like 2day it hit 7psi, and once the revs r up it levels down to 4psi. like would it go harder if I kept it the way it is or should I get ford to re-programe the ecu for me
