ASNU Member 261 Member For: 23y 8m 14d Location: Brooklyn Posted 30/08/04 10:51 PM Posted 30/08/04 10:51 PM Russ. Please be very careful when considering a cheaper alternative to the EVO 6 multispray Bosch injector. There are a heap of remanufactured injectors you can access all over the world that will never proform the way they should.Incorrect spray angles and flowrates let alone holding wide open in different rpm ranges.Got really big in the US about 8 years ago of just changeing injectors when they blocked up but people were putting injectors in thinking they were perfect and could not understand why the motor would not proform as it should.I cant tell you how many BB chevs running superchargers being delivered to customers only to find they have a hole in the side of the block after 1 power run I have seen over the years all beccause of a injector with say very slow solenoid reaction times or faulty return springs fitted that the remanufactureing injector business is prone to.There is also the problem of people thinking they can just drill the 4 tiny laser cut holes built into the director plate on the end of all the standard injectors to increase flow. How on earth they think they can match the correct spray patterns and flowrates is beyond me and just looking for trouble. You must remember when you finnally get your motor tuned for a power run the tuner is assuming that all injectors are flowing the same flowrates as all he is going on is the AFR value coming out the tailpipe as a combined value of 6 cylinders.Say for a example the injectors have been drilled and have a 15% variation in flowrates.Number 6 cylinder will be running 15% more fuel than say number 5 and the mixtures will be all over the place trying to correct themselves over each other. You have to start with a good matched set of good quality injectors in the first place mate.
