He's one of the best trouble shooters for late model C4 and C5 corvettes in Australia. We provided some financial incentive for him to come over from Victoria to give us a presentation on problem issues and remedies. Was a damn good talk he gave.He spoke on lots of issues, but this one may be of interest to all of us.Most of the pain in the ar$e problems with late model vettes is due to the electronics. He emphasised that poor earthing was a major contributor. With throttle body sensors and ABS and engine knock and oxygen sensors all over the place, getting a good clean signal to the ECU is a critical aspect of the car running properly at all times. He made a point that some sensors use the chassis / engine / metal castings to provide the return path to the ECU, and due to (insulating) gaskets at manifolds/heads/etc etc, the reliability of the return path is compromised. He recomended the use of earthing leads to ensure good earthing to all metal mounts for sensors where the chassis/manifold/bracket or whatever was used as the return path for the sensor signal. It just made me think that maybe there might be similar issues with our T's and the erratic intermittent nature of some of the faults some people are experiencing with poor idle, rough running etc.just thought I'd share that with the site members.cheerstom
