Hey guys, I have been thinking of my options for my next upgrade for PASHEN. I will only have a budget of around $12K to spend around the end of the year.

I'ver had my Phase 3 fitted since February and it still rocks my world...but as any horsepower nut will tell you....you always want more. Should I start looking at a T56 gearbox and a visit to APS for Phase 4 preperation?

On the other hand, the car is already faster than most cars on the road, and already it's power isn't even able to be used realistically on the road. The gearbox is fine as I drive sensibly and have not yet taken the car to the strip. So do I focus on being happy with that and work on customising the look/appearance of the car instead? Give if the look to match it's punch?

I'm keen to see what you guys reckon you'd do if you were in my shoes.

Thanks! :crybaby:

p.s The bodykit specs that I've emailed to the fibreglass manufacturer in Sydney that could do is attached. The only changes I told them to make are a slightly shallower lip on the front bar, and bonnet air vents similar to the HRT 427 on the cover of this month's Motor magazine. My 19 inch ROH Fury's will remain.

im just wondering... why would you be going from auto to manual?

phase 4 would be good (is it out yet?) even if its not out yet, if you got into discussion with them, you could be one of the first people to get it...

Jep, if I go to more power, I'd need to go the T56 as there is no auto option currently available that would handle 400 rwkw. Having said that, I'd miss the auto....its a dream in a performance car like this.

I believe APS are still in development mode for Phase 4. Much of this is gearbox dependant. However I think they do know what they have in mind with this upgrade. I started talking to them about Phase 3 before all the details were finalised, and had it installed, before it was released a month later.

Phase 4 , a major Auto upgrade when available I think the Auto the better option for any strip work, brakes ( cant remember your set up :spit: ) , then any change on cosmetics

Wish I had your problem :crybaby:

Wait till a stronger auto is avaliable but in the mean time I would be putting in stronger rods and forged pisiton's,xr8 vented bonnet and gt wing diff ratio change etc etc :w00t2:

It scares me thinking how much more can be spent on these cars :nono:

My views as follows:.

A lot of money is very easily spent, and from where you are now a lot of money is required to have a well-balanced and strong car with even more power.

It’s mandatory that you do rods for any higher power, and possibly pistons … there’s $4-5k say, otherwise there’s a fair chance you’ll blow your engine.

Brakes $4-9k … you must be able to stop, given the extra power.

Gearbox auto $3k say, T56 $9k The BTR auto power handling capability is still an unknown and it may end up costing a lot more, depending on what torque levels you end up with. APS have stated on this forum that they will not support their phase 4 with the BTR auto.

As for the T56 you can have a drive of my car to check out what it’s like. If you’re a real auto lover, I’d guess you’d want to stay with the auto.

……… all this before you add the power upgrade costs…. That’s your budget gone.

After you do this you ought to be able to run more boost anyway, and depending on your injectors, you may be able to squeeze 340-380rwkw out of it without going APS stage 4, and that may satisfy you for another 12 months. You’ll have a bit more power, but one that is stronger and stops better. If you do this you’ll easily have one of the quickest cars on the road, not that you don’t already.

BUT it still depends on the strength of the auto.

I’ll give you an alternative suggestion when I see you in 5 weeks time.

Also, you could pm OwnaXR6T to enquire about his recent experience (Stage 3 + internals & gearbox upgrade).

However, also put it in the context of what you’re likely to do in another 12 months time after that, when we enter the era of 400-500 rwkw cars. Go down an upgraded BTR auto path now and the BTR option is out, and maybe then it’s either C4 or T56, so then you’d have to write off your current auto upgrade money that is spent. Maybe you won’t do this, bit I always like to consider future options.

With that body kit you’d want to have a really fast car.

Invest in some slicks and take it to the strip and see what it does. If you are satisfied with the ET, start getting it to look like you want it to. Or you could spend some on rods and pistons as xr6ickness said and if there is any left over spend it on visual mods. That way when the power becomes hodihum again you already have the tough internals to habdle whatever you do next, by then a  auto should be out and possibly phase 5.

I drive sensibly

 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA :lol\

Gween, :gooff: Have you not blown this font out of all proportion

I do not diagree however with ramping up the internal strenght of the motor.

Good insurance me thinks :gooff:
