After looking under the bonnet yesterday I found the overflow was empty. After doin some CSI I found that the water was leaking from a pipe that entered the housing. A friend of mine that's a mechanic said was just an O-Ring.Oh well back to the dealer.

You can see the leak marks down the passenger side of the radiator. Ford rang me to take it back in cause the new radiator is there waiting to be fitted. Yeh, when I get time.

I have had this problem a number of times in my au11 falcon as well as my xr6 t . I have been told by my ford dealerthat the water pipe is not clamped at the "o" ring but just pushed into the housingand the pipe is only attached at the rear of the engine so the is "a bit of movement"---hence "o" ring cactus stuftus. keep an eye on this from time to timeKILLER

Passenger side of radiator, at the top of the end tank.Have a new radiator on order, and it will be fitted when they eventally get my replacement diff in. Until then I am just keeping the overflow tank topped up.My service man at the dealer said that they have replaced quite a few radiators for splitting in the same spot.

Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 18/05/04 08:00 AM Posted 18/05/04 08:00 AM New o-ring being installed this Thursday - started noticing the leak about 10,000kms ago (now done 32,000), and the leak has steadily gotten worse.

It is a pain in the a$$ to use the collar on the Turbo's, the dump pipe has to be removed, a lot of tech's just dont bother.......Splitting radiators and leaking overflow tanks are as common as ar$eholes with Fords unfortunately. What is it with Ford's losing all their coolant?
Guest pauly Guests Posted 18/05/04 11:27 AM Posted 18/05/04 11:27 AM My AU1 had the same problem as well!!I replaced the o ring and it has done another 100,000ks no worries!!I thought ford would have fixed this on the new BA falcon by now.
