Addition to "the tuning pit"

Any chance of puting a message on the top of The tunig pit topics making it clear that not all blatant advertising is promoted 100% by FordXR6Turbo.com?

Only reason I ask is because of the latest topic "APS Power/Torque/Price numbers

Peter, please confirm your numbers :)" Which almost looks like an over the top Ad (dr Z - I hope you received a free upgrade) .... It was almost sickening how far you climbed up Peter's rear on that post :banghead:

I have no probs with any tuners on the site - Hey I hope to use one eventually - but when I click on the "show new posts" button - It's hard to tell if it's a "endorsed" product or not.

For the record, summarising a lot of data and information while making it open, transparent and defensible is why I chose to canvass the information in a manner which makes it readable, tractable and uncluttered. It was prepared for the sole purpose of assisting with the APS queries people have so that the information is easily located and centralised given the large number of posts with scattered and/or outdated information.

It may not have escaped your attention that further down the thread I openly commented that presenting this type of information summary for other suppliers in a consistent manner was an excellent idea. The context and perspective of summarising this information was to contribute to adding value towards the FordXR6Turbo.com community.

While one person's interpretation of an "over the top ad" may be interpreted by another as a "refreshingly useful information summary", there is a grey area between presenting any information about aftermarket products and informing people about their choices through advertising.

In short, you make a good point about the grey areas of advertising clarity on these forums but your tone and choice of words do not add further value to this point. It is in my nature to treat every person with courtesy and respect, even those who make it difficult for me to choose not to take offence at their comments. :repost: There are some interesting issues relating to advertising versus information-sharing that our community may wish to discuss one day if they collectively see it as important to canvass. In the meantime, I have the utmost faith in Chris and his hard-working team to apply common sense to their interpretations and distinctions of each.

I will continue to do my best to treat others with dignity and respect and if anyone chooses to spread their unsubstantiated criticisms in our community, it is the divisive instigator who will continue to lose objective credibility among forward-thinking forum members.
