Aps Stage 1 kit

I am seriously thinking about fitting the aps stage 1 chip to my T, as the power of the stock car is sweet, it could always do with more to get that fat ass moving. So can members who have the stage 1 chip fitted please answer some of these questions.

1. Did it completley void your warranty.

2. Have you had any gearbox or diff issues, my xr6t is an auto.

3. Does the stage 1 include the chip only, or did you have to fit anything else. ie. bigger cooler, engine oil cooler, injectors, bigger exhaust.

4. where did you get it done.

Hey guys

You will enjoy the power and driveability (sp?) of the stage one. If you wait and do the install until after you have done 10,000 or so kms it no matter about warranty kemo sabe and if you haven't sorted out the car by then you never will.

Go for it, you only live once! And as they say once you have stage one you'll be very curious how a stage two feels.

P. S. A mate stayed with me last weekend , he has a 7 series Beemer 4 litre V8 and he couldn't believe how well the turbo went...........................past his beemer.....

only problem is we got the extra warranty free, so its covered for 6 years or 160,000 klms.

Looks like I will stick with visual improvements and filter change for many years. Only 5 more years to go.

you will not void your entire car's warranty if you go with APS upgrade.

You may however void your engin and drivetrain warranty....although the APS piggyback ECU is a plugin module and is completley removable.

Check around as my dealer is going to continue to service and cover my car under warranty with the APS Phase 1 upgrade, that's just the chip. As long as I don't play with any internals he is ok with keeping my car under warranty.

Are the injectors counted as internals? They come with the new phase 1. I am also really interested in getting this kit (after I get the car of course :lol: ) provided it doesn't screw my warranty...

Also with the module being removeable, are you able to take it off easily, I am all thumbs when it comes to actually working on a car.

When the aps module is removed will the car run like a stocker straight away or will it take a few days to remap itself.

Does anyone currently do this, as in remove the unit before a service and reinstall it after the service, with the dealer being non the wiser?
