New Rear Spoiler/ford Badge Shaved
Hey I did the same thing to mine last year, lip spoiler was from FTG Auto Salvage only cost 75 bucks before the force series was released. I think the spoilers have gone up now though. I like the look simple and clean well done!!!

Broken Diff Cover
HP-F did the bush for me and threw in a new bolt. I am going to take it easy for a bit so I can finish my new engine over winter. Hoping to put together a nice new combo for next summer. I will be keeping an eye out for stronger rear end gear though for my new combo. Maybe I should have bought a ute again..............9 inch detroit locker= no sweat !!!

35000km Used Bottom End Whats The T Vs Na Difference?
Hey all. Been offered a stock XR6T bottom end complete for $500.00. Done 35k replaced with full Nizpro setup. The block is from a stock BA mk1 Turbo. Are turbo and NA BA blocks the same? Just wondering if the T block has strengthening or braces I will need down the track. I was going to pick this bottom end up and use it for a base to build my new engine. Thanks.

End Float/play In Turbo Comp Wheel
I stopped in at HP-F, they seemed ok with it. Didn't pull the intake pipe off or anything. I was just wondering if anybody had a spec or something so I could check it out with a dial indicator or something this weekend when I spruce her up. Thanks.

End Float/play In Turbo Comp Wheel
Ok I have a rebuilt turbo from H-PF due to chipped comp wheel some months back. While my friend was servicing it in his shop he noticed quite a lot of end-float. He queried me on this as his opinion is that a roller bearing turbo should have no play at all. I do value his advice he has built some nice turbo and recently a twin turbo VL sedan with his father. Both agree that there should be no play there in a roller turbo. You can hear the turbo spooling down after shutdown, but the wheel does not rub on the housing anywhere. Any thoughts or experience guys?

Broken Diff Cover
Well this gets more interesting by the day. The fulcrum suspension bush arrives. Go to pub to drown sorrows at no warranty cover. My old mate from xxx Ford offers to check claims on my car in the Ford system at the dealership he works at in Melb. No black marks against car. So rang a random Ford dealer and they are trying to get a pre approval over the phone for the repair but are fairly confident. Perhaps not having any idea how I drive is a bonus......But why was driver abuse cited but not recorded in system?????????????Hrmmmmmmm.

Rims
size does matter. depends what you are trying to achieve. I run 17"x9" rear and 17"x8" front. +38 offset and on the regular street it handles excellent. bigger rims=less sidewall=harder ride. Formula 1 cars, infact most motorsport cars run some decent sidewall. it is just as important as shock absorbers and a sensible ride height in my view. BUT, this is if you are chasing PERFORMANCE. I can tell you there are some downsides too. Looks, 17" rims are small these days. like getting out of the pool in winter in your speedo's at a the female swedish bikini team convention small! also forget running big brakes. the big wheels are better for that.

I gave mine a little squirt from the roll against GTECH seemed to pull on me a bit but if its got 400rwkw guess he wasnt getting up it too hard, sounded the goods though.

Saw A Force 6 Today!
It was funny when we saw one at our local dealer where my friends work. Apart from the massive wheels and licorice strap tyres its the look I went for in my BA XR6T. Same lip spoiler too but I like it. A more sublime stealth look to it. I think it is aimed at execs who want the grunt but not the traffic light grandprix that comes with a Typhoon. My only complaint is the seats, a little G220 for me. Perhaps some nice leather/suede with nice side bolsters and at least heated seats. It is meant to be luxo after all. The one I saw didn't have heated seats and the seats did not have much shape to them. Nice red colour though.

Friday Night Cruise
Yer I went. everyone was late poor YPURV4 had the collapsing ford wheeljack initiation. Then we played snap the wheelstud, followed by "crazy friend in fiendishly fast R32 GTR vs Victoria Police"version 1.0. Skyline won but that guy is off the chain one hell of a cop magnet. In all a pretty un eventful night I think some of my U-turn antics on Princess HWY is what finally did in my diff cover plate oh well. Nice to meet you guys anyway.

Broken Diff Cover
The bush snaps, the owner is lazy and keeps driving so it just breaks the bolt or cracks the housing . I am definatly upgrading the bush I think this is the main cause. I will probably do the housing upgrade while it is all out to be sure but I think once that bush gets just a little play it just takes off from there. Nolothane/ poly bushes resist wear a lot better so hopefully this will fix the problem.
-
Broken Diff Cover
Well it makes sense that when the bush is gone the wear it transferred to the bolt/housing. I will at least put the nolothane bush in and most likeley the reinforced housing and high tensile longer bolt. Herrod have the bush I hear so hopefully it all goes together. It seems just like a tie rod end in thoey. Small play at first then gradually more and more as it wears intil it just drops/snaps off. Maybe some sort of a rosejoint setup or something I don/t know exactly. I am a panel beater by trade, If ist broke I hit it, heat it or bog it up!!!

Broken Diff Cover
Thanks nizpro, My friend Christian aka RLQUIK would probably be interesed. He was also interested in some tougher drive shafts too. You guys did a nice job on his car I had a quick drive felt very torquey and usable on the street.

Broken Diff Cover
What I thought on the showroom floor. Black wheels, lip spoiler. Simple. Has anybody broken a diff cover on here yet? I dont pound it really hard, just the odd hard launch and never axle tramp.

Broken Diff Cover
Octane, I remember that colour, nobody at the dealership I worked at in melb liked that colour. Apparently sat on the floor for months. It reminds me of the XA GT colour looks good mate.

Broken Diff Cover
Hey thanks mb, malwood just called back. $298.00 + $25 freight to Melb so I think that's the go. Some guy called Brian Lord just got one sent down here they said for some big HP application so I hope it works out. Nice car you got there what orange is that?

Broken Diff Cover
Not looking for sympathy, just a better/stronger engineered solution. Anybody have any? Thanks.

Broken Diff Cover
Ok I had the diff bush replaced under warranty, no problem. Now 4 months later the differential cover has cracked and bush is also dead. This time however no warranty due to driver abuse. Not much I can do I'm afraid so I have been trying to find a strengthened cover and bush with high tensile bolt to replace it. Has anybody heard of one? Mal Wood have a prototype available and are getting back to me but I am open to options. The car only runs 12 PSI, reprogrammed auto and 255x40x17" rear tyres. Makes 272@the wheels so not big HP any suggestions? Thanks.

Capa Flash Not So Stealth
12000 kms, rocker cover gasket disturbed, just kept digging. I worked there, my mate still does. He has the rapid yellow xr6t black 19" rims no plate is RLQUIK. ran calder last night with me ant the sister car to it, blueprint xr6t. They just said no warranty due to edit.

Capa Flash Not So Stealth
Sorry to revive a dead post but here goes. My friend is a finance manager at a large ford dealership. I worked there too until recently. He owns a Mk2 ba sedan. Was edited then threw a rod out of the side of the block at 12000kms or so. It was put back to standard by one of the boys after hours but they still picked it up when the ford tech came out to inspect the car in the workshop. Result-no warranty on engine, now or in the future due to edit. Other items not related to edit are still covered. Himself and another finance manager both went to Nizpro and got some nice work done since ford would not come to the party, and needless to say they are extremely happy. Even if you write over $10,000,000 of buisness for Ford a year, rules are rules and we have to play by them. I guess things are built to a budget and the xr6T is a real budget rocket standard and quite durable. Mine is edit and 106k runs good. One auto but other than that ok. I sell trucks for a living now. If its rated at 16 ton dont carry 32 ton and expect warranty. I sold fords and if its drivetrain is tested and rated at 6psi or whatever it is, dont wind it up to 10 or 12 and expect the smiling man behind your service counter to give you a free auto/diff or what ever has a melt down no questions asked. I don't want to be negative but I can sort of see where they are coming from. You can bend the rules a little...........or a couple of psi pehaps. But just wait 100,000km you can build a pretty quick motor in the back shed over 3 years I'm sure!!! Then unleash hell.
