Called into Seaview Ford today and spotted a new Typhoon...sort of orange in colour..19 inch wheels and as yet has not been made ready for delivery. Awesome looking machine. Anybody here expecting a new baby..?

I know this will be boring to all with highly modified Phoons..but have just had an Edit and Custom tune to mine and cannot believe the difference it has made. Apc have squeezed about 249 rwkws on 98 octane. The car has much more response and really takes off in 2nd 3rd and 4th. I have a bigger grin on my dial than when I picked it up the day I bought it. Now is there a cure to stop me going further??? John S

they said that just the system will increase the kms. no edit as yet

just got a quote for a new system for the phoon, twin mufflers as v8. have been told to expect at least a 40 kw increase.....am I thinking this is ott? or could this be the case. no other mods done..so just new system....4inch dump etc.etc.

Booked the Phoon in for Fri' for the 3000 kms check...at Nuford. Service guy asked what needed to be done... Front doors not aligned at the bottom Seal under hood missing clips Running a bit rough ...sometimes. Rear speaker (woofer) poppin' and farting!! at half volume. Not too many things really and I love my car! Service guy tells me there is no cure for Poppin' and farting as it is a common Ford fault that has yet to be solved!....yet my 03 xr6T had Premium sound with NO probs whatsoever??.....anyone else have this prob or is it B@#$%@#T ? After reading all the negative things about warranties on this site, I have my fingers crossed that Nuford will do the right thing.

Just coming up to 2600 kms on rapid phoon, I love this car!! an absolute pleasure to drive. Just 2 queries, 1... gear change from 2nd to 3rd...a bit "notchy" not bad but nowhere as smooth as the rest. Is this a common occurance ? 2.....somewhere on this site was a pic of an xr6 turbo with what looked to be twin mufflers....v8 style...has anyone done that to a phoon? cheers.

Have had my rapid for a week now and have clocked up 400km's. It is a joy to drive and gear box is getting smoother by the day. Had one incident yesterday when, going up steep incline (driveway ) in first..it stalled and when I restarted it, it was ticking over at about 800 and very lumpy. When I used accelerator it would't rev. just ticked over with no response. After freewheeling it back down driveway onto level ground (embarrasment!!!) I restarted and it was ok. Any ideas?? John.

I have noticed that my phoon drivers door is slightly out of "whack" at the bottom and is not flush with the body line. Looks like this could be a common fault?

I have been reading a lot on the problems you guys have been having with stone chippings and inferior paint on the phoon. As yet I have none and would like to keep it that way. I wonder if anybody knows of a dealer here in Perth that uses the 3m clear film that is available over East. I can't seem to find anything on Google. Thanks in anticipation.....John.

I have been getting some great info here and thanks for all your help. Im intrested to know at what time do you start doing mods to your phoons? it appears that some of you are carrying out alterations while the cars are still under warranty am I right or wrong? P.s took car out day after purchase for a " quiet' drive!" and got pulled by an unmarked cop car! ...doing nothing wrong, but they wanted a look under the hood!!!!! is this going to be a sign of things to come?

Not sure as Nuford filled the tank and is still half full John.

Im sure I saw something about this on this site somwhere but can't find it.....Problem being, have run up 250kms on new phoon and enjoying every moment but back of car really dirty....exhaust/brake dust????? the tailpipe looks very "sooty" any ideas? cheers...John.

Blonk, I'm in Perth and as yet, seen only one other Typhoon on the road...guess what....Rapid. I only had one demo to choose from and normally go for white but at least this way, I won't loose it in the shopping mall carpark!!. What is the benefit of fitting a K and N filter? I see a lot of you use them. Would this affect my warranty? I know thet got dirty with me when I fitted extractors and system to my xr6. John.

Hi all, I'm new on here and thought you might like to know I have just picked up my Rapid Typhoon. It is a o5 static demo with 40kms on the clock and is build no 0294. I got it for $52000. Whether or not it was a good deal ( ithink so!) after a test drive in another demonstrator I "just" had to have it. I can see what all the fuss is about! what a great car. I will be looking at all the threads and will try and gain as much knowledge as I can from all of you as to (down the track) making enhancements to it . cheers John
