Yes, he will still put that turbo together with a .7 housing but he doesn't currently do them as a package to suit XR6 unless you specially ask due to past fitment issues...
-
That's what I said to him. 3582 with .7 fits. Only thing I could think of is maybe his housings are a lot chunkier in places (?).
-
MattyP- Eiji from MambaTek informed me they don't offer the gtx3584r with .7 front cover to bolt onto xr6 anymore as it apparently fouls on the motor somehow otherwise I was going to order one from him but wanted the .7 not the .5 housing... I live close to Proboost though and I believe he offers a very similar setup for a decent price. And from what I can tell he's been around while and has good rep.

Hi, Has anyone used or have any experience with the GTX35 style turbos using a T04Z compressor wheel? I bought a GTX3582R but now wondering what the T04Z/GTX hybrid would perform like in comparison. I assume with the bigger wheel it would be a bit 'laggier' but would like to know how much extra lag would be expected over the GTX3582R and how much more power would be in it. Thankyou.

Are these likely to help with housing bolts backing out?? http://www.intunemotorsport.com.au/BA-BF-FG-XR6-turbo-F6-exhaust-housing-bolt-retainers.html

Got it!!! You were right...just needed a bigger pry bar lol. I've done cam swap, manual conversion, removed motor and changed all gaskets in my LS1 and never had issues like I did changing valvesprings and oil pump gears on this car lol.
-
Do I need to remove the dowels first? And what's an easy way to get the dowels out. It's stuck tight in those areas...
-
I'm trying to remove the timing cover on my G6ET. I have removed all the timing cover bolts and the 4x front bolts but the timing cover won't budge. Do I need to remove the alignment dowels first and if so what's the best way to do this? Thankyou.

I have a used GT3582R with .7 front cover to go on my G6ET but am thinking about getting a GTX3582R instead. Is there much difference between the two turbos as far as real world performance and is the cost difference worthwhile? Will be running kpm1500 injectors, PW stg2 intercooler, 4" intake, 4" dump & 100cell cat, 400lph fuel pump, Crow valve springs and billet oil pump gears. Also have a manual conversion to go in at some stage and E85 is a possibility...
-
Nice!!! I've got a manual conversion for mine too. I'll be using 3.73 diff gears. I think my tuner said he did one with 2.73 (temporary) and it was doing 100+kph in first gear.

Probably a stupid question but would a tailshaft from an "FG GS MANUAL SEDAN (5L)" fit an "FG XR6 TURBO MANUAL SEDAN"? Thankyou

Can Someone Measure Their Tailshaft Pls

Does anyone have an "FG TURBO MANUAL SEDAN" tailshaft handy that they could get a couple of measurements for me please. After measurements Y and Z in pic attached. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

"big Pod" Fuel Pump Worthwhile?
***VX*R8*** replied to ***VX*R8***'s topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
Yeah I've looked at KPMs systems and they look good. But was hoping to just get the Walbro pump if it's a worthwhile upgrade and also get a regulator. I have KPM 1500cc injectors too. -
Can anyone please confirm what diff gear ratio FG F6 and FG xr6t *MANUALS* come with?? Thanks in advance.
-
I need to order a fuel pump for mg G6ET and wanting to know if the "BIG POD" setup for sale on EBay is worth the extra cost over just a walbro 460 pump and fitting it to the standard setup. Looking to make somewhere around 400-450rwkw and don't want to run a surge tank. The EBay ad says it holds 1/3 more fuel and reduces surge on take-off is this just a gimmick??? http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/FALCON-BF-FG-XR6-TURBO-XR8-WALBRO-TIA485-2-E85-BIG-POD-FUEL-PUMP-ASSEMBLY-/261914481371?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE

Is it worth getting the Walbro TIA485-2 400lph with the 'bigger pod' that are for sale on EBay?? The ad says it holds 1/3 more fuel and reduces surge on take-off.
-
Haha yep!! I'll still probably limit the exhaust to a dump pipe and cat though. For now lol.
-
Ah ok I see now. I'll probably just sell the tailshaft and get a sedan one...either way I'm guessing it's a good idea to get the shaft balanced on the car after it's all done. Cheers for the help

Damn! Was hoping I could get away with using my auto tailshaft with the manual slip joint. When I converted my VX Clubsport to 6sp I just used the auto tailshaft. The manual tailshaft I have is from an xr6t ute so won't fit sedan. Thanks for the replies :D
-
When youse say intermediate shaft, are you referring to this part pictured? Pictured one is off my Clubsport. I think I understand what youse are saying but wanted to make 100% sure lol.
-
Sorry. I shouldve said I wanted to use it with the tr6060 not in an auto.
