Well explained rob82. One thing I'd like to know though is if there are different versions of the capa box. eg. different operating software or generic tunes, etc. I'm looking at buying one but I want to be sure I buy the new version if there is such a thing

For someone without any major mods except for air induction and a future edit... I read on the forums somewhere I would be better putting my money elsewhere for performance enhancements. True?

I just installed a K&N filter into the ute and a think there's a slight more roar in the high revs but definately increased flutter noise. Could never really hear it before but can now. As for more performance, too early to tell. If anything, a slight increase in acceleration but I'm only going by 'the seat of my pants' feel :-) Could anyone confirm the part number for the k&N xr6T. I just want to be 100% certain as the rubber frame wasn't a totally perfect fit. Was wondering if this is normal.

Greetings. Always good to have another turbo for the cruises. Yeah, Gorge Rd is a fun one for sure. I gave my t a fair bit of sh*t early on. Most seem to recommend it. A few dudes do the air thing. Technically, it probably voids your warranty but if you take your plates off; who's to know Catcha on the next cruise that pops up.

Man, I was just having a browse and realised I never posted my ute. Doh! XR6 Turbo Mk II. April 05 build. Velocity paintwork Full leather interior XR scuff plates XR mats XR spotlight and light protectors Aux input (for ipod) Power converter (for running/charging laptops, lights, ipods, phones, etc) Bluey's ute mat (made from tyre rubber) Tinted windows Paint, leather, vinyl and carpet protection Future mods Ford Edit chip 2nd cold air intake Illuminated window switches (bling bling ... and maybe... Sunroof Colour screen and dvd player with mp3 support ... oh, and I should say OUR ute. My girlfriend and I bought each other half each for our 10 year anniversary. Good score I say

Yeah, they definately have a different sound. More of a high mid boxy tone to it. The XY sounded nice or even more so, the Pantera

It's funny you should mention those two things guys in that order cause that's what they've done so far. Fist time, a lose steering rack and I think they did the shim steering bugfix, second time a retention and supposedly another shim bugfix for the rear tapping noise and now the third time.... Hopefully I'll be lucky like yourself Trough Lolly and that will be the end of it. If it is a common problem, I'm hoping most were able to get it fixed. I gave the dealer their final chance before I take it elsewhere so they're keeping the ute overnight to make sure it's 100% fixed. This is only one of a series of ongoing issues with my dealer

Hiya, The ute's back in for a 3rd time for warranty work regarding a low knocking sound in the steering. The ute's had it since it was brand new and now with 12k on the clock, Ford have yet to fix it for good. Does anybody else have or have had this low knocking sound? It mainly happens on u-turns and parking. The other noise which is getting looked at for a second time is a high metallic tapping sound in the rear somewhere. It happens when driving over manholes etc. Not as vital as the steering issue but still annoying. Any feedback would be awesome cause I have little faith in my dealer
