Taking On The Epa
In regards to cats I remember hearing that us ute drivers can remove them legally, as in a commercial vehicle which may be driven in areas such as paddocks, grass covered blocks, uncleared areas they prove a greater fire risk as they heat up more than the rest of the exhaust? Seems contradictory to the rest of the EPA business but at the same time I can see merit in it

Replacement Key Options
The locksmith came out to my house this arvo, I had the car unlocked by RAA the night before though I doubt this would have made a difference, he took the door trim off the drivers door and removed the lock, took it to his van, the barrels have a few indicator lines inside what looks to be an inspection port, he then put the keys in the cutting machine and cut the keys to match the lock/barrel. Went to my car, plugged a diagnostic tool in behind the fuse panel somewhere and removed the old keys/coded the new keys to the car with them in the ignition, this took about 10 minutes. it also gave him the option to teach a central locking unit to the car which we did. all up took about an hour and cost me $450, ford quoted $550 for just the 2 keys plus $130 per remote and I had to get it towed there. Top bloke and a hefty saving.

Replacement Key Options
Yeah I got a quote from a local locksmith here in Adelaide to come out and cut and code 2 new keys on site with 1 remote for $450, another said $400 for just the 2 keys and they can't do remotes. Seems like the $450 is about the best I'm going to get

Replacement Key Options
So I've lost the only set of keys I got with my F6 ute 2 days ago, need to get a complete replacement set made up. Wondering if anyone else has had to go through this and about their experiences, whether they used ford service/genuine or a locksmith and the big question, how much it hurt their wallet.

Keys Possibly Locked In Car
has anyone ever had a door automatically lock on them? I've lost my keys (only set when I bought the car) at home and I've turned the house upside down looking for them, the only place I can think they might be is inside the car and the doors are locked. can the doors lock by themselves after a period of time with no keys in the ignition? it had been about 36 hours til I checked the doors since last having them open

New Members: Introduce Yourself
Hey guys, due to all the help I've got from the site I thought I'd become a donating member, sold my modded skyline and bought myself an 05 BAII F6 ute and couldn't be happier (both with the drive of it and less attention from cops haha). Slowly starting to stockpile some mods to throw at it in the near future.

Driving After Mods - Limp Mode?
I've got a BAII F6 manual ute, I've recently bought an aps full stainless system and will be getting some siemens deka 60lb injectors, if I fit these myself at a mates workshop will I be able to drive to get the tune done on it or am I likely to go into limp mode? its only a 5 minute drive in 60kmh zones. or is it worth just taking it all in and getting installed by the tuner to save the hassle?

Factory Hard Lid Locks
Hey guys just purchased an 05 BAII FPV with a factory hard tonneau but the guy I bought it from had no keys for the lid. Is it cheaper/more viable to get new keys made up for the barrels by a locksmith keeping in mind the quote I got was for between $85 and $125 or to get whole new barrels and keys? Is there a way ford can track what keys I need by using the hard lid number or something like that?

Fg Sports Bar
beauty cheers for that, glad theres no holes in the bodywork

Fg Sports Bar
How are the sports bars mounted on the utes, bolted to the top of the tray or somewhere in the tub? Do they drill holes to fit them? If so are they big or would they be a pain/pricey to have welded/filled and painted? I'm only asking as I'm looking at a ute and don't like the bar as I want to put a hard lid on it and the bar will get in the way.

Pre Purchase Things To Look For
Hey everyone, New to the site and looking at buying a manual FG XR6T ute, had a bit of a look on the web and can't really find much on what sort of things to look for when purchasing a used FG XR6T, apart from the obvious and non model specific things like service history, wear and scrubbing, is there anything I really need to keep an eye out for? Things like noises to listen for and what they mean, checking for specific leaks or wear, play in things, etc Also if looking at a modded car what mods/workshops are more reputable? Cheers, Ben
