  1. Sweet looking piece of gear you have there , Any dyno figures ???? .
  2. ANDY ANDY ANDY I think you missed the point I was trying to make , and buy no means was that buy stereotyping you as being a young bloke behind the wheel of a very quick car without a brain between his ears , quite the opposite . As I said ( I think you sound like a smart kid ) and reading your posts you make that quite obvious in the approach that you are taking with what you are trying to do with your car . ( doing your home work , asking lots of questions and listening to people who have the experience ) . S**t Andy I hope with your experience as a 2nd soon to be 3rd year mechanic you can teach me a thing or two. Andy the point I was trying to make is that these cars are addictive and once you start to play it becomes very hard to stop , the only thing that dose stop you is just how deep your pockets are . Trust me we all want more .
  3. Just hade a rather interesting chat with ford about this CAI , and was promptly told that if in anyway I was to replace the standard air box with the CAI in question that it would void any warranty and that ford would take no responsibility . They also made it very clear that I would need to prove that I owned a new FPV . ( think old mate tried to jump his misses this morning and she slapped him , real grumpy bloke ). I would love to fit this CAI to my FG T and am not to worried about the warranty per say as Im going to be keeping my car well into the future . Question 1 / Is this something that anyone else has heard from Ford ?. Question 2 / If you Ford will not sell this product to anyone who dosnt own a FPV then how do you get your hands on one ?. Question 3 / dose anyone really know weather this CAI will fit .
  4. G'day Andy , 2nd year apprentice !! your mates must be green with envy . I hear what you are saying and you sound like a smart kid ( I am guessing quite young ) . As you would know Andy its not just as simple as changing one thing and seeing the benefits , you have all the supporting mods that need to go along with it and on $400 a week ( I think you get where I'm coming from ) . You also need to think about insurance . Insurance companies don't like moded cars , and then also the cost of running the car . Your fuel bill will go through the roof . If I was you , I would give your baby a good wash and polish put your bordies on and hit the beach . The girls will love you , and the car. Good luck with what ever it is that you decide on doing .
  5. Couldn't agree more with all comments on your ute dude , looks awesome and I bet it goes even better . Quick question . What battery relocation are you using ? . Have been playing with the idea of a stg3 PW cooler myself while keeping the battery under the bonnet .
  6. Happy Birthday L plate!

  7. I thought as much , but just wanted to put it out there. Could of wasted a few good $$$ . Thanks.
  8. TURBO SMART , MURRAY CLAMPS . Have not seen anything like these in either Autobarn or Supercheap ( not saying that there products are no good ) but I think just having piece of mind that no hose will ever blow of no matter what purpose it serves is worth spending a few extra pennies on .
  9. Hay guys , while we are on the subject of a new cooler for a FG and just a little bit of the topic slightly , Would anyone know if a Plazmaman battery relocation would suit a Process West stage 3 cooler kit ?. Carnt decide on the Plaz 1000 or the Pw stg 3 . I do know I want to run a 4inch cold air intake but also want to keep the battery under the bonnet to keep it a little bit more stock looking. Thank for your help.

    First Mods

Its something we all need and in my IMO AAMI are one of the better companies to deal with . Have been with them for years. Got side swiped buy a truck in my FG T , was dreading going through insurance but couldn't of been more pleased with them. Kept my rating 1 for life and didn't affect my no blame bonus ( accident want my fault ) but truck driver still tried to blame me. Then when picking up my car from the repairer , the boss of the work shop hade taken his FG GT out of his own personal garage and put my car in there to keep it out of the showers of rain we were getting . Found out AAMI hade requested my car be looked after due to the condition I keep it in ( clean , polished etc ) . that's bloody good service if you ask me.
  11. Spoke to the boys at elite auto today quite surprised , cooler / air box / injectors / clutch and maybe a couple of mods to the turbo should see anywhere around 280 - 300 rwkw. Couldn't agree with you more about getting the handling set up right as well .
  12. To all you guys a big thank you , I think a great big light bulb has just gone off above my head. You know I could have all the money in the world and build a car that's just out off control ( for the street ) , but the one thing it won't buy is experience . Back to the drawing bord .Think I will start with a PW stg2 colorer , PW race air box , battery relo , and maybe a PW surge tank and of course a flash tuner a tune .
  13. No big bling wheels running 19inch dark agents with 245/35's . Starting to think that maybe my figures were a little ambitious if not a lot for the street .
  14. Hay guys nice to hear from you so soon , and thanks for the honest replies . Have tossed the idea around weather to go to a auto but thought a good strong clutch and 6 gears might just be a little more fun . Forgot to add that I live in Brisbane only an hour or so away from Elite Auto where Paul and the boys have looked after my car from day 1 , so having a good tuner is not a problem .
  15. Mate I know were you are coming from . Ive got a $46000 ducati sitting in my lounge room and a FG T in my garage that I want to start playing with to . Save like a mad man you will regret getting rid of the bike down the track.
  16. I'd first like to say hi to all the turbo nuts out there and how much I've learnt by reading all your posts. I guess buy now you can tell that I'm a newbee .. 2 years ago I worked my ass of to save up and buy the first new car I've ever owned , and you guessed it a FG xr6 turbo . I love it , bloody hell the thing still looks like I've just rolled it off the show room floor . Everyone knows just how good these cars are not only in looks but also in performance ( that includes all the BA,BF F6 FPV ) but I think its now time to have something a little bit different . I guess you could say I'm on my own little personal ego trip. I don't want to go out and do a 10sec 1/4 mile nor destroy $450 a corner tyres in 5mins , but what I do want to know is that the car will pull like the space shuttle and pretty much leave a good 90% of all other cars on the road for dead ( especially holdens ) not a big fan . So over the next couple of years I plan to build a car with no less than 450rwkw's and any were up to 550rwkw,s . I do know that this means a built motor ( rods pistons etc ) but I hade that last on my shopping list or would that be the first thing I should do to support all of the other mods to come ?. I guess boys Im asking if you hade a stock FG xr6 turbo 6spd manual and hade a spare $9000 sitting in the bank and looking at achieving what I am , where would you start ???
