8months isn't that long really.. in the eyes of a p plater it feels like a life time. Buy a cheap car for 500$ mark then send it to the wreckers in 8months. Legally the only way for her to drive it would be to remove the turbo, raise compression, take it to the pits to have the car recognised as non turbo, change the rego over to non turbo otherwise a rego check by the popo will pop up as it being turbo even if its not which could result in loss of license or p plates extended for driving a prohibited car.
