Hey guys Does anybody know if the dump pipe on a ba Typhoon is the exact same as the dump pipe on a ba xr6 turbo? I need an original dump pipe with same diameter as the standard dump pipe that meets the actual turbo and ive found one that's come off a BA Typhoon but it cant have a larger hole (which would create better flow, but I dont need better flow just original stock flow) Thanks for your help.

Very interesting... some good points.Id like to see 4wd/AWD as an option. On the GTR skylines (4WD) you can add a switch which changes it to the same as the standard GT (RWD). People want choice. Personally the car looks awesome but as CBXRT said ... at what cost? how many models will we loose in the process.

So I read in Wheels that the Taurus is on the Horizon. What does everyone think about the new direction? will it happen? will they bring out a turbo charged Taurus? what will become of the current XR range and the F6? Any one got any inside info?

Hey Tilvo Yeah Nick and Ben are the two guys running Gt Garage, I heard about them through my mate who has a Purple BA. He recently had his car tuned there paid the Ton ($1k) and has been stowked with it.I went for cruse in the passenger and for 8psi, it's pretty quick. I might be there again soon to have mine re tuned. Gotta get some cash first. Is yours running stock or have u had your tuned? I seen you around Glenorchy, nice ride.

hey Luke so 29 credits for a BA Tune (is that per car, I.e every person who gets there BA tuned have to pay this 29 credits?) is that 2 credits at $96.50 so one credit is $48.25? and if so does that make a BA cost 29 x $48.25... $1399.25?

lol, a bit much you think .... you gotta start somewhere and with 56 000kms, and nearly 5k spent since purchase 18 months ago (paid 22k with 32 000kms), manual, sunroof, full leather pack. plus I still know the original owner (mature age business owner) who bought it off the shelf from Ford. well maybe this is a good opportunity to put it out there. Hey Meno yeah its up for sale in Unique cars (pretty cheap advertising if anyones selling) wanna probably upgrade to BF mkII or Fg. asking top $$ but no rush to sell, plus still getting it tuned, A1 for whoever wants to inherit the Green machine at only 56 000kms (03 model!!) while im on it if any ones interested I know im in tassie but im prepared to bring it to mainland SA, VIC, NSW for a sale. Hey guys I only inherited a sh*tty cappa tuner which I think is just about useless now (probably always was). Personally not knowing much about re tune I assumed he would purchase a SCT and do it that way but from what Ratter said VCM Suit might be the way he's going. (cheers for that) I got the 5 speed manual and yeah my mate was totally wrapped. (he kept up with me on the highway starting in second with 4 blokes in the car im running 10psi but actually getting up near 16psi boost issues - runnning rough hence the re tune and his tune was 8psi with a bigger intercooler, alot more responsive, better fuel economy etc) I like the bloke and my gut says its money well spent, was thiking it was abit on the expensive side but then again here in Tassie beggers cant be choosers lol I think theres only 3 tuners and one doesnt want to do it so truck him and the other doesnt really touch fords much so... Go to Melbourne maybe. thatll be around $700 in petrol, accom and the spirit... maybe il stick with him. cheers for that bomber

Hey guys, I was quoted $1000 for a custom tune. Tune guy (tassie) explained part of the first time cost was because they need to pay an initial license fee for each and every car they tune but then after the initial tune u can go back and there is no need to pay that part of the cost? has anyone heard that before? I read elswhere on the forum that tuners keep files from previous tunes? (I know this guy has tuned my mates car almost identical in mods)any chance they just use these files on my tune and charge for time not actually spent?

I think some new plugs gaped @ .78/ .8, and put the old dump pipe back on (though I dont have it and am struggling to get one actually) will solve the boost problem. The boost controller / external wastegate sounds like a good idea. I'll follow that up to see if that's a cheaper route. The larger flapper valve would deffinatly do it but I thik that's more expensive as I have to send it away and was quoted $1000 for the whole job including labour and seeing as though this is my family car taking it higher than 9psi isnt necessary otherwise id definatly just keep on with the mods. Good to know the stock dump pipe is good for 300 RWK (im thinking after a decent tune ill get 270Rwk,ish. Thanks again guys, much appreciated.

Hey man Currently im having issues with my actuator holding boost because on my 03 Ba I changed to the Full exhaust. The flow of exhaust gas is running to good through the new 3 inch exhaust and yeah dont do it. apparently the Bf fixed this probelm but the Ba's internal wastegate has this factory issue. On a standard ehaust (or dump pipe) the probelm is masked because the flow of exhaust is suppressed but on the new bigger dump pipe it can stuff your boost levels and potentially cause alot of problems. I have a stock 03 Ba except the full exhaust and a generic sh*tty CAPPA tune which has programmed 10PSI but on the dyno its making 16 PSI + before the air fuel ratio starts coughing and spluttering. Im trying to track down a standard exhaust now becuase its more expensive to change the turbo outlet to match the new exhaust and doing this also requires bigger valve springs which again $$. so If you want more power its not a bad $1500 - $2000 (plus exhaust) to spend to make 300 RWK but necesary if you want the full exhaust. Apparently you can make it 3 inch from the cat back with no issues though which it sounds like you were going to do anyway... Besta luck (p.s if anyone can find a flaw in my little spiel canyou post cause this is what my tuner guy told me about my car and im looking at it from all angles. cheers)

Hey Guys So follow up from the Valve springs conversation, the local Tune guy has found firstly my cars making more boost than the flash tuner is setting due to a full exhaust? (set @ 10psi and actually making 14+) The back of the turbo outlet is a smaller hole than what meets the exhaust and the boost isnt able to hold... does this sound right to anybody? the solution a)put original exhaust, or at least from the turbo to the cat, back on or... have the turbo outlet as big as the exhaust which will mean more $$$$ due to new valve springs needed to safely produce that much power. Some one else suggested having the spark plugs replaced would this stop the coughing and could this have any impact on the boost issue? cheers guys Any comments are much appreciated.

Hey Guys I'l make this short and sweet and as many responses as possible would be great so I can try and sort the little beast out. here are the Facts; *Currently, engine wise, everthing is stock (except an exhaust and blow off valve) *Has CAPPA Flash tuner (original) running 10Psi *At full boost in any gear most of the time it will cough and splutter loose power (from the stop start of the coughing) and then sounds like a WRX as it becomes really lumpy under exceleration for about a km or 2 until everything goes back to normal. Other issues may be related or seperate *regardless of re tuning back to stock or even 8psi, has the same chocking problem *loosing oil somewhere but not on the ground as it seems?? *there is a slight rattling on start up (below zero morning) I think its either from the motor or part of the exhaust near the engine?? Local tune guy diagnosed over the phone that its probably the Valve springs that need replacing??? I dont want to spend unnecesary money, im not looking for a 11 sec car just 10Psi running smooth. ANY HELP Is a HELP :-) thanks guys

A mate of mine has a poker tourny and I thought it would be a good chance to take out the green machine so im gona give him a lift, hang in Launy or cruise around there and then drive back when there finished, mid / late afternoon.
