I assume you aren't talking about me, I don't even have an aftermarket exhaust fitted yet, it's sitting in my brother's Garage waiting for me to come and collect. AND I will be getting it tuned very soon after that is fitted, @ Pit Lane Automotive. But I agree, have turbo back Exhausts GET TUNE. I have heard that time and time again.

yeah I've got a full exhaust, just waiting a bit longer to put it on and then get PitLane to tune it.

yeh I've done the k & n filter already, and the restrictor. I'll keep the XR8 one I think, I would rather get it tuned sooner than pay for a CAI I don't need. Appreciate the advice.

Hey guys, just not sure whether to bite the bullet and buy a bluepower cai. I have the XR8 Snorkel and Lower Airbox on my FG, (also have removed the restrictor on the upper part of the airbox). IS what I have enough, or do I invest in the BPR CAI? Obviously one is significantly cheaper (and I already own one....) but before I put my full exhaust on etc and get it tuned, I want to be sure what CAI I decide to keep. Any ideas/comments? They aren't cheap either, its a whole new ICC, Approx $1,500.... and that isn't installed.

both were bought brand new. I'd done just over 25,000kms in the last one. Year same, car same, apart from extra airbags, the transmission, and an extended warranty. I didn't want a second hand one, to be honest I didn't want to offload my car that (in my opinion) had issues on a potential member of this forum. It just didn't sit right with me. That why I did it, and I already love the new trans. It would have cost more than 7k to change from Manual to Auto, so I'll live with my choices. But please don't give me stick about it not being a Turbo, I respect all you guys on this forum and enjoy the banter, but this is the way it is.

Mate, I'm 26 with a Mortgage, I earn 42,000 a year. I was very lucky to have the 7k change over, let alone to buy a turbo. I love the Turbos, but cannot afford one, or the insurance.

Other ute was 2010, March Build. Not financed, bought new through a Ford Dealer in Melbourne. Change over difference was 7,000. And before anyone says "you are a fool, you got ripped off blah blah blah", save it. I know it was a waste of money, but the manual gearbox never felt right, and it was ruining my driving experience. So, I bit the bullet.

Yeah agreed. But would inox be ok in terms of heat?

Reckon Inox would be ok to spray on it?

Hey Guys, I have just bought a 2010 xr6 6spd Auto Ute, and opened the bonnet yesterday to discover that there is what appears to be surface rust on the drivers side of the engine block.... is that normal? Please see attached photos.

I think the whole thing is with this, is that I'm usually someone that just puts up with things, WELL NOT ANYMORE! This is a lesson well learnt on my behalf, dealers try and push you around, and if they are in the wrong, the PUSH BACK. Special thanks to the ACCC and all the guys on this thread.
