you mention 2 new models..are these the force6 & force8? what spec of vehicle are these? cheers.. ← Yes they are the Force 6 and Force 8. Your dealership will have information on these cars and I assume they only have the stuff that isn't embargoed. Although the cars are referred to as having Boss 290 and F6 270 engine options I guess power levels could be altered for surprise factor on release, but for these new products if you think Senator competitor then you wont be disappointed with what they come up with. If you want a F6 with more luxury 45 to 50 years old then the Force six is probably for you.

No the current dark wheels will remain the option but cheaper then they are now to reflect the standard fitment of 19 inch wheels.

There are two new models. All cars get 19 inch rims as standard. The optional ones will still be available but will cost less then they do now. All cars get new rims Looks like engines stay the same but you won’t have to wait till December. They are aiming for a release on the 26 of Oct and will be build stock from late Sept (job1)

I have to say I am not real impressed with the quality of my BF either. My issue is with the quality of the panels. I have small dents that while admittedly only show up when the car is in the correct or unfavorable light. When this happens it isn't a good look. I am undecided as to what action I will be taking. Oh and mine is a BF GT-P. There is a chance that the fix might cause greater problems as matching rapid isn't the easiest thing to do thanks largely to the piss poor Ford paint quality.

Not only has DSC not been mentioned but there has also been no mention of the ABS Bosch software upgrade as with BF in general. As many will know DSC is just an extension of the ABS system. As far as I know they had ABS working with brembo brake cars prior to the upgrade to 8.0 (or similar) what version are FPV using?

I think you will find that the auto box is lighter but yes the cars have gained a little. There is a press release around the net that states there was to be a weight reduction with new springs and shocks but that too has been pulled due to cost considerations. The new exhaust on the GT would be accounting for some of the weight increase and supposedly the BF does have extra sound insulation. This mob continues to consider themselves an engineering company. Their worth to the blue oval is to be inspirational. That’s a bit hard to do when not only do they not provide lead in technology but they can’t use what is afforded by Ford. HSV are in the same boat as I am 99% sure only V6s have DCS. This was a chance to back those engineering claims up. The other side of this is that Euro 3 has required a specialised approach to an exclusive engine. That would have been both significant in time and cost.

If you have a close look at the BF Brembo package that too has been slightly altered in that braided lines are no longer used. A common air box in the range, deletion of coded stitching while it is still available on Xrs and so on. They are little things that support exactly what you have said.

I agree Any time any manufacturer can't or won't make available features that appear on lower model cars they don’t look too clever. In this case cars within the Ford Empire are running Brembos and DSC together. What it means in the real world? Probably nothing but it doesn't look to sharp to be going through the product specification and seeing items that are available on lower cars being omitted especially in this PC world where safety is everything. In some ways this BF FPV range is looking very thin. Do we actually know for a fact that the sound deadening improvement follow on in to the FPV range or are they continuing to use BA shells? : sarcastic:

You have got to be joking. But hey lets just add that to the growing list. Monotube shockies cancelled Fantasy paint cancelled It would appear that the Xr range are at the top of the list now. Colour coded stitching -no problem -expensive paint option, no problem. Web site that works- no problem. This is just embarrassing

Given what has happened that has to be a real chance. You just need to work out which car has priority. The FPV territory, now that the 6 speed auto is out or the upgrade for F6 customers wanting more. If they took this option with the Ute then the F6 has to be odds on. Its juts a matter of time and being politically correct

Most dealers have some info on BF GT range. Some of the info that has been released is the cause of not much being said publically from people in the know. An example might be, no one thought Brembos would be made standard on GT which led to an assumption about a new brake package. That’s a 6k brake system reduced back to chicken feed but represents a huge commitment to budget performance by FPV. The GT still has to get in at around Clubbie money so it’s pretty big news by itself. 19 inch wheels standard on GT. Just those two items add up. Now I could tell a little story about a boy a bottle and a TC system but I might save that one. Let’s just say the GT-P gets new brakes. On the engine front what has happened to the base cars was rumoured to be across the range with a significant emphasis on torque. The XR8 doesn't look like it is moving hence some assumption might have been wrong about FPV. The fact that FPV are still referring to it as BOSS 290 isn't by itself significant at this stage. There has been suspension work, details of which will be released at the official launch and that could contain a surprise given the introduction of the Ultimate Brembo package on GT-P. There might be an interior innovation. There is a new front and rear as has been mentioned. Fantasy is a Nov build start for those looking at this colour. Stripes? yes a new design is on the way.

To understand what is happening with oil prices an appreciation of how the stock market works is benefiticial. Like Mondie has said it is highly unlikely that the price will reach 105 as predicted by of all people an investment bank. That’s the first clue. That’s what has started the latest rally- in no small part on the back of a report by Goldman Sachs & Co that and nearly 2 dollars per drum from hedge funds and speculators. There was an industrial accident on a rig in Texas (I think) which hasn’t helped. The market is very sensitive to anything relating to oil production and isn’t acting in a dignified or justified manner. The bottom line is that it is being traded in fear. In real terms demand is up by about 2% in a 12 month period but fear is a powerful manipulating tool. OPEC have publicly claimed they are no longer in control of the situation and Saudi Arabia extremely concerned about long term stability of what is an over inflated commodity stock. Corrected for inflation the current 57.something price is still well below the high of 1980 and many lessons were learnt from that recession. The statement or prediction of $105 is more to do with a saturation point that will curb demand. If the market is driven by the industry they are trying to gap the field. They are trying to make a correction for surplus reasons. OPEC is saying it isn’t the case. To reach that point a sever depletion of that reserve would have to take place. A terrorist attack (which the latest oil rig failure was feared to be) could trigger such a spike. If such a rise were to occur the last of our problems would be the car. Petrol acts like a tax on a tax. The flow on affect would be dramatic.

Like Venom said it could be called BB or BA MK3 or anything. Its code name is copperhead as far as I know. While there are rumors it is being kept back till VE arrives March /April next year, most insiders are saying Sept Oct this year. It is the first sheet metal change to the BA and is said to introduce new technology elements to the Falcon. The BOSS gets some attention as does the automatic. I am looking at the FPV version which I am told should be available OCT. Based on some inside knowledge I have been waiting for this car for about 12 months. I just hope they stick all the features they have been working on into this model.

I was going to say the same thing. There is new model coming in OCT 05 and supposedly that is delivery. If you don't like it you have runout model deals to fall back on. If you are after a V8 this is supposedly the model to wait for. But we have heard that before too haven't we.

It’s about time they tried to cash in on what is happening on the track. Overdue in my book. Better late then never I guess. I prefer the signature series approach as an option though.
