What rating - PSI is the stock actuator on an FG. Also at what PSI does the stock actuator open/start to bleed off?
-
Thanks - so since changing your throttle body - fixing the sticking - have you had any issues at all with idle dipping? If not I will check my throttle body - how did you know the build date of throttle body?
-
Did you manage to resolve the original issue Turbotrana? My car is going fine since return to stock - no idle issues at all (as it was prior to changing the injectors and tune) - I think I am ready to have it retuned but this time with stock set up - test the water again.
-
Does the idle still dip below 500 RPM or have you managed to stabilize that with adjustmets to the scaling and breakpoint
-
Any updates - have you managed to resolve the issue?

Some additional info - My car was originally tuned with 60lb Deka's. I had these swapped to F6 factory bosch injectors as the Deka's were causing some issues. The issue was with cold start - the car would run rough for about 15 seconds and pulsed down the driveway as I tried to reverse. The tuner tried but could not rectify - so I changed to the F6 injector thinking it would fix the issue - it did but the other issue arose. However, thinking about it, my car's idle never dipped nor did the car stall with the Deka injector - the car drove perfectly once the initial cold start issue. Not sure if this helps.

Unfortunately no I have not had the car retuned. The car seems to be driving fine at the moment. The revs have slightly dipped (only a couple of times since returning to stock) - to maybe just below the 500 rpm marker, but definitely no shudder, surge or stalling. I have considered having it tuned on the stock injectors - but at this stage I don't want all of the hassles again. I guess I could always reflash the stock tune back in if it did start to play up again. I would love to say once bitten - but I have already been bitten twice - so far.

He did not use the Xcal 3 to data log - he used a ford program to stream live data from PCM. He was looking at fuel trims and some other stuff. He kept making adjustments to the tune and then flash it in and then stream the data again. This went on for several hours - for no result as previously posted. There was one setting in particular he was adjusting - he said according to ford it should read -0.05 or -0.5 cant remember. This particular parameter kept getting closer to the desired number after every adjustment and reflash (he was adding %'s of air) to the low rpm range in drive 550 to 650 - but never quite got there. He was concerned he was getting too far away from the factory settings and did not know why he had to add so much air to get this number down. That is about all I can remember. He said he would continue to look through the programming to hopefully find a remedy - but I do not think this is imminent. Since having the factory injectors and factory tune put back in the car has been perfect.

I had the car returned back to factory today - stock injectors and stock tune - while my tuner tries to work out what is causing the idle issue. Also he wanted to check if the problem persists or goes away. I guess he is trying to verify if the fault is from the factory program or a result of the tune. So far the car has not missed a beat (since returning to stock). I will do some more driving to ensure all is ok with the return to stock and let you all know. He also checked the Ford data base to see if there was an update for my vehicle - no update available- it is running the latest software.

Saw my tuner today - he worked on the car for several hours - he made some minor adjustments to the low slope, idle in drive - added about 3% more air - 550 to 650 RMP range, minor adjustment to dashpot decay rate (slowed the rate of decay). The car seemed to drive well while road testing the vehicle. However on the trip home the car's idle in drive became erratic and it started to dip again. Any more ideas?? Question: is it possible to load a complete later version of an F6 program - altering the turbo settings for the smaller turbo?

Just went out to check - Same Tag A8RK - with all the same details - software/hardware etc... Can't get a photo at the moment but will post later. Well that is interesting!

The car ran perfectly prior to the tune and mods - So I am guessing the car is mechanically sound. He just emailed me to say he has a new tune to try. It will go in Early next week. I will keep you posted. What's with the constant reference to diff bush? I have seen it all over the forum.

Thanks - so what do you think my tuner should focus on - idle spark or throttle position or both. Sorry I have liitle knowlege or understanding of any of this. Cheers

The Tuner used a Sniper interface flashbox - unfortunately this does not have a data logging capability. I spoke to Simon at XFT today. He said he could retune my car this time with an SCT flashbox and see if this fixes the issue. I will see what my original tuner comes up with over the next few days and if nothing - it's off to XFT.

My Issue sounds very similar to yours Turbotrana. I thought I might try and enlist some more help from some of the site sponors (tuners) to see if they might be able to assist you with the Diagnosis. My issue only arrived after tuning and install of the F6 injectors. I will contact Simon at XFT today to see if he has any ideas. Thanks to all for your input so far. Ratter can you tell me what changes you made - the out of the normal ones. So I can pass this info with Turbotrana's to my tuner and see if it helps. Again Thanks so far.

I have an FG XR6T2009 6spd ZF. Car has stage 1plazmaman pipe kit, FG F6 injectors and a custom tune. I have searched the forum but can not find a solution. Since the car was tuned with mods the car has an intermittent stalling issue. It has been back to the tuner many times for no result. The car drives perfectly and idle seems ok in Park and Neutral. The stalling happens as you pull up to a full stop. Sometimes it's fine other times it stalls. The car seems to hunt a bit at idle (in drive) revs drop very low the car shudders a bit as the car tries to recover the idle. Are there any tuners out there with some advice. My tuner has said he does not know what is causing this issue and what more he can do. I am at the point of returning the car back to stock but since now I have blown off my warranty I would prefer if someone could assist me with this issue. Sorry for the novel- very frustrated

Turbotrana-When you altered the timing in the idle area you mentioned previously you said you were experiencing some other issues. What side effects are you experiencing?
-
Hi Turbotrana - did you put your standard injectors back in and reflash the stock tune? I am very interested to see if the problem went away. I will tell my tuner what you have done and see what he thinks. Cheers

I have exactly the same issue with my 2009 FG XR6 T. The car is pretty stock - only larger injectors and stage 1 pipe kit. The injectors are the FG F6 310 bosch factory injectors. The turner copied the stock tables from an F6 program in relation to the injectors and pasted them into the custom program. The car never stalled prior to the install of the new injectors but stalls now (when you are coming to a full stop - only periodically as stated above). The tuner has adjusted the idle in drive - added I think 2% more air. The car seemed to drive fine - then the stalling returned. I think there must be an issue with the injector programming for the FG F6 - but where I have no idea. I have emailed my tuner who is investigating. The car does also seem to hunt at idle in drive - never did before. Any tuners out there have any ideas or remedies? This is a very frustrating problem.

They also removed some timing from MBT spark

Thanks job done - worked a treat - Cheers

Anyone know how to remove wiper arm on FG. I thought it would be easy - (maybe it is - I just don't know how). I took the cover off and removed the nut that secures wiper arm to wiper motor. I thought I would then gently lift the arm off - nope It would not budge - even with a little persuasion ( a screwdriver for leverage). Anyone know how???

Thanks found that thread last night and sent it to my tuner Thanks riptide any help with diagnosis greatly appreciated.

My Tuner is going back through the tables to check all settings - I read something last night about voltage compensation - I asked him about it and he said he had already made the necessary adjustments, but will double check everything. The vibration is only slight - not a huge drama - just annoys me that it is there after tune and not before. The car seems to idle fine its just this slight vibration I can feel. The car also pulsed when cold (use to bunny hop down driveway in reverse) they adjusted the injector slope and that seem to fix that. Maybe I am too pedantic - but I love my ride and really enjoy driving it - this just takes the shine off a little. I will keep you posted on any developments.
