Mkii Side Badging
Hi all, There is a 2012 G6ET MKII I'm considering, immaculately kept, but noticed the side badging is G6E, not G6E Turbo. The badge on the rear is correct. Asked the owner about it and he said he thought they were all like that, and is as curious as I. He bought it new and said that's how he got it. Anyone else out there with a G6ET MKII and it has G6E badging on the sides? Cheers

G6Et 2010 50Th Anniversary Or G6Et 2012 Mkii
Thanks for all the additional comments guys... appreciated. By the sounds the GPS isn't great in either models, was hoping it would be as like twelthword I'm on the road a bit for work so it would be handy. Twelthword - sounds like a good buy, I think I recall seeing one of the same description on carsales, for a real good price! Will report back which path I take. Again, thanks to all for your input

G6Et 2010 50Th Anniversary Or G6Et 2012 Mkii
^^^ For sure! I really like the 19's... it's a must! The MKII comes with 19's standard and the 50th Ann model does too plus they have that grey shadow in spoke which looks even better :-)

G6Et 2010 50Th Anniversary Or G6Et 2012 Mkii
Yeah I know it's gonna be more work, having mercury silver currently is real easy to maintain, never looks dirty! But keen for a change so looking for a change. Really appreciate the comments, very helpful and as you own both its a good recommendation. I've got young kids so dark interior is the go as easier to care for. From your comments the MK1 and MK11 both have their advantages / disadvantages. I do like the idea of touchscreen so think the best idea is to test both. I will be looking out for Bluetooth glitches!!! Glad to hear your car has no faults, reassuring I might find a good one :-) Cheers, yes the price saving is my biggest consideration... as it will be close to 10 g. Would be blacking out the grill on the MKII :-) Warranty is a very good point. Depending on how much price difference it ends up being between the two, the other deciding factors will be the usability of the screens and warranty. I really do like the idea of touchscreen, slow response would be frustrating. Now I have a few tips gonna head out to some dealerships. Cheers guys

G6Et 2010 50Th Anniversary Or G6Et 2012 Mkii
Hey guys, In the market for a new car, it's gonna be a G6ET but weighing up whether to go a MKI or MKII as stated above. Reason I mention the 50th Anniversary model is due to the standard GPS, which I know isn't a big deal but with my job I will get good use out of it and I just want it I guess. So I'm planning to go view an example of both the MKI and MKII of the above but first for people that own them or even better have owned both if you could give me some pro's and con's of both from your experiences that would be great. For example on the 50th Ann, how easy is it to use the GPS without a touchscreen? Cash wise, low $30's for a low km 50th Ann or around $40k for a MKII, so is the MKII worth the extra $$$? I've got used to the front now on the MKII and like it, colour wise considering silhouette. (Comments too on owning a black car are welcome :-) ) Any comments, things to look for when test driving etc would be great, more the better.. Thanks all, Richard

Hey Luke Unfortunately missed out on a great buy on a car locally (wasnt quick enough to get a deposit down) last week so still on the lookout including eastern states. Once your F6 arrived Perth, what did u need to get done and costs involved so its wa rego'd and ready for the road? Cheers mate, just wanna know the full costs so I can determine what I'm up for in total. Hopefully is an easy process. Richard

Loss Of Power Due To New 'built' Btr?
Wow... Trip down memory lane! Haha In case anyone is interested, in the end nothing I worry about... just needed a few decent kms put on the box to "free is up"'as the stock BTR had 138,000 on it. Built auto still going strong :-)

Hey Lennox ... So what's your plans for the diff bush change? I'm looking into it also. Only rang one place today (Pedders) said for the 5 bushes (2 front 3 rear I believe) for $1300 supply and fit I'm really hoping it to be a lot cheaper!!!

Thanks Luke and Zads for additional comments. More great info! Zads your spot on too that I could get a cheap return flight plus inspection and transport for the car and still be better off than buying here. Plus just a lot more selection. Will start looking into transport soon so I'm prepared. Aaron... A mate of mine has driven two cars back from Melbourne. He loves the drive, I reckon half the reason he buys over there haha Not sure I'd get back in one piece so transport is the go

On The Edge
I like these kinda reads... Especially with a good outcome! :-) Welcome to th forum and welcome to these awesome cars! Funny you got yours from Perth, I'm starting to look and all my preferences are east coast! Haha Your car looks great and good list of mods which I'm planning similar for when I get an FG CHEERS :-)

Cheers Luke for the info and advice! I'm keeping an eye on a few cars over east, which for one are better priced than here but also more selection to get what I'm chasing. I'm in no rush and still realistically months away but want to get the logistics like transport etc worked out so I know who to contact and rough costs at a drop of a hat. I'll give Moving Cars a buzz and discuss pricing and truck only options. Thanks for the tip on avoiding rail!!! I didn't realise they would get a rebate as such for a roadworthy and plates. So the car travels to Perth unregistered as such with no plates? Would then need to run over the pits in wa to get new plates? $4k under original asking price is a good result... I'll make sure I start low, can always offer more... Can't go backwards! Oh and will definitely get an inspection and revs check done... more than peace of mind! Appreciate your comments Luke, if I think of anything else will drop u a line. Hopefully I can get along to the cruise... talk shop some more :-)

4 Speed Auto Transmission Max Reliable Power
My first tune at about 105,000km's was 257rwkw and I was running a stock BTR. Had that power for about 20,000km's... BTR held up perfectly, the line pressures were increased and shifted firm with no 'flaring' on gear changes. At about 125,000klms I upped the power to 290rwkw of which was ok for about 10,000kms before the 2nd to 3rd shift started to 'flare'. Ran it with that box for another few thousand k's taking it easier on it until I got a 'build' BTR fitted at about 138,000kms. Currently car is on 177,000kms and (touch wood) the built BTR hasnt missed a beat. I dont thrash the car but drive it like it wants to be driven of which with the very firm shifts it likes to accelerate harder. The built BTR I have performs really well at my power level and I think it would handle a fair bit more. When test driving the car, open it up a bit through the gears noting the shift 2nd to 3rd for any flaring (slipping). Hope this helps.
