ok so I was driving tonite, doing about 130. and all of a sudden I hear a popping noise, like sounds like someone tapping on my window.. I was like wtf, did it again and same thing happened. only happens at reasonably high speed, could this be headlight protectors flexing and tapping against the bonnet? or something more serious? any ideas would be much appreciated

every single car has the ability to go over 150 km/h reactions are the same no matter what car your in.. restrictions arent the answer. a compulsary drivers safety course would be a better idea ( even enforcing people during school to attend ) providing they have their l's at a reduced price. win win situation. im a p plater, I had an accident. people see that as me being a sh*t driver, but I wasnt at fault. ironicly it was a 50 year old man who decided he didnt want to stop at a stop sign. tmac just seems to hate all p platers.. if your parents didnt let you drive a fast powerful car then that's nice. having a crash is a biiiig learning curve about driving, providing its not fatal of course. but they say p platers often drink driving, loose control etc. wheres the police? revenue raising somewhere on a 60 km/h road that should be 80.. the whole bunch of laws they brought out are bogus. after my crash im alot safer, even though I wasnt at fault. it still makes me realise other drivers on the road are complete morons majority of the morons being older imo, dont see p platers cutting me off, only middle aged people in g6e's lately. or the turbo territory's. ironicly all have been ford..

not to bad for private sale is it? low k's I know they go for cheaper at the auctions..

ok ok, so I was browsing on carsales just before and came across this http://carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/F...&trecs=2240 this seems to be a good price, low k's, even though it is a 4spd .. if I wasnt currently a p plater I reckon id be all over this, 76000 k's, leather. correct me if im wrong, but does this sound too cheap? or this what their going for now days?

Grrrr. shame to see such a nice car end up like this. however, p platers shouldnt be stereotyped. there are plenty that drive sensibly and avoid things like this happening. and then there are the p platers like myself, who use common sense to know when you can plant your foot without anything bad happening. im not saying im the best driver in the world. but I use commonsense on the road and so do alot of other p platers. same thing could happen to a bloke whos never driven a turbo before. or rwd for that matter. 1 idiot ending up on his roof shouldnt create a stereotype for all young drivers.

ah sweet, apparently rrp for the growler is 599, and the price on ebay is 499, thought decent savin already. but then I guess you gotta add postage n stuff..

ok ill give you a rough estimate, even though its a rather strange place for your topic in my thread.. lol. but underdrive you can get on ebay for 269. should be fitted for about 400ish. tune, ummm, 1095 including a flash tuner. and cai depends what you want. if you want top of the range you can go for a ss inductions growler, their 499 on ebay. or you can go f6 lower intake which will be about 120-150. so total for those 3 roughly 2 grand if you go with the growler or like 1700 if you choose to use the f6 lower intake. im not entirely sure why but im gonna go with the growler and spend the extra money.. lol

ok guys, I know that you get underdrives off ebay, think their about 269.90 or something as far as I can remember. but, ive heard its rather tricky to find someone who will change it over to the aftermarket one, does anyone know anywhere that does this around brisbane? is it tricky? or do most performance places do it..

only 2 years till I can drive turbo :( well, might be able to just drop a better engine in there by then, fg turbo engine maybe.. or maybe just buy an fg if my loan is paid off by then, probs the easier way to go.. but they look stupid. but I know a fair few guys who prefer to make power out of their n/a rather than a turbo, due to the challenge. its to easy to make power out of a turbo.

imo do what tree monkey did. saw his car last nite, and it is a beast for the amount of money he has spent on it.. why rebuild an na motor when you can look around for a cheap t with low k's? wont this do the same trick without all the hassle. like, t motor will handle the power as its built for it. seems pointless to me. but gl with it if you do. I know once im off my damn p plates ill probs just find a diff motor and gearbox and drop it into my car as the chassy has done barely any k's so there will be no wear and tear.

I must say, that acceleration looks mighty tempting doogstar...

yeah alot of the people who have spoken have turbo's but, in theory it should be the same, if the lower ratio doesnt effect fuel economy on a turbo I should think it wouldnt have a totally different effect on an na.

yes, 4.11 makes you lightning off the mark but top end is effected.

gunna check out hitech auto at capalaba as well, see what price they will give me. might get a flash tuner1 of ebay. do they still retail the flash tuner 1's? will report back with my result in quotes from hi tech to compare, see how many ba's they have done etc. not holding my hopes up due to there is a few people who have heard of them but none have actually heard anything about the work they have done.

well typhoon just took his to bps at cleveland, and I think hes pretty happy with the result. 315 kw at the rears. im thinking bps for tuning strictly coz their a 10 minute drive from me compared to a 35-40 minute drive to elite though. guess ill see how bps goes first, if im not happy with it theres always elite afterwards.

hmmm. anyone know what the standard diff ratio is in a falcon? totally cant remember...

obviously those are the findings for 4.11 am I right??
