  1. Happy Birthday apcdave!

  2. OK So who can beat 160,000 March 2003 BA. Rebuits 4 speed trans at 150,000 Still goes like the proverbial
  3. Hulk, I hate to burst your bubble but you have got nearly all of it wrong but then again I could be wrong. Facts: 2003 March 18th XR6T, 4 days to 5 years old 158,000 kms, restricted to 340 RWKW and not afraid to use it. Fellow cruisers will tell you that this old fart can whip it good. Get 50kms per tank more on both cycles than when standard Had the auto trans rebuilt at 150,000 kms, diff and cv's still working, engine has had only valve springs upgraded. However the point missed is STOP the GO. Brake upgrade is a real necessity, I have slotted rotors, racing pads and dot 5.1 fluid. Seen enough cruisers imitating a bush fire at the bottom of conrod straight. Focused
  4. Phil & Ernie should be included in all future cruises. Ernie for his Turbo barbecue and Phil cos ? will think up something. Sorry had to leave early as son had to work at 4.0 pm. Did not happen though as on Moss Vale road around a bend over a brow and F**K car stopped in front and tree right across road, stopped in time JUST. Phone to local SES and a local called up a guy who works for local bush firies, one chain saw chop, one large bucket loader to lift up several tonnes of tree and push it over the armco, two bucket scrapes and road open. Great time and interesting journey home, thank god the tree only missed a car by a metre and was not in the foggy area.
  5. Count me in may bring along another 1 or 2 will confirm later.
  6. Trans rebuilt, car ready to go, meeting point just up from home, wife working its a go.
  7. Sorry guys, transmission was rebuilt last Thu/Fri and want to go a little easy on it for a while gotta be good 4 Xmas bash ~ Bathurst again?? Plus its pissing down still.
  8. I'll try and make it also as the October cruise died before birth. May also bring the anchor (wife)
  9. Thanx Phil for a great time as usual, if you can talk less we would have a longer cruise time and get to macca's for breakfast. Look forward to the pics. AND the next Cruise

  15. best money I will ever spend Dave
  16. Grim performance who did the work on my car was at a testing by Plazmaman and saw all the results. His advice.
  17. With 6400 rev limiter and 3500 stall should get me into 11's I imagine, may be some time b4 I run it down the strip.
  18. Just before christmas had a severe case of overboost caused by two bolts holding turbo together parting company with the assembly crybaby.gif , options were to have it repaired :!: or have a bit more work done on the APS phase 11 First the turbo went away and came back complete with T66 internals and high flow front housing and rear trim modifications the guy who did the job owns a T and had tried a bigger turbo which gave bigger top end but lost on low and mid range but came up with this combo which boosts low and mid range. What about a new dump pipe to replace the ford cast monstrosity? good idea on went an SMB 4" job. Had to mate it with a 4" cat and 4" exhaust to the centre muffler then 3.5" to the rear all in stainless by SMB Intercooler how about a 1000 hp Plazmaman job bowdown.gif and that intake filter cover looked so nice I had to add one of them too just a shame it hides the K&N ram pod but you can't have everything, well not in one go A TIAL 11 psi blow-off valve was fitted for good measure. Battery moved to boot and all done by Grim Performance in Hornsby. Had two additional transmission coolers fitted to help with the higher power at the tranny. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34028 Post No 7 what else? a cold air intake cone where the drivers fog light was, did it myself, also repositioned the fog lights on the bumper and put in mesh grilles :bum:blush.gif . Finally off to MRC for a CAPA flash tuner, FPV spark plugs, 82°C thermostat and voila 330 RWKW. and 750 NM pulling power. Im a happy chappy now
  19. Its called Monza grille mesh from auto place in Hornsby but most car accessory shops can get it in
  20. The flutter is far louder than the blow off valve, the open area is so large its like a quiet ladies fart Not mine The photo's are here enjoy
  21. pictures were posted earlier as build went on the link is http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...31185&st=36 I will post them again with all the finished installation ones The piping was custom made by grim, from it Plazmaman now has an off the shelf pipe set.

  23. Having been on the last two cruises incorporating Bathurst ANY BRAKE upgrade is advisable First trip bottom of Conrod 180kph breaking on a bed of marbles Next trip had all rotors replaced with slotted dba's, running green stuff pads and high temp brake fluid Bottom of Conrod at 220kph breaking easily white standard XR6 behind me (he will know who he was by the brown stains) smoke pouring out from front guards : LOL Had to pull a bit ahead till he stopped Went with same size rotors and existing calipers as was the cheapest option.
  24. WHY OH WHY Pick the day I'm flying out of Sydney O'seas. Will have to enjoy the Proton taxi's for a bit. Will try hard to think about you all at least until I get to Kuala Lumpur. Catch U all on the next trip
  25. As Pantom Ute is being let out without his leash Black Beauty has asked me to look after him. Wife cannot go but son may come in the Pissan SEEYAALLSOON
