Overnight Cruise - Mt Tamborine Sun 07th June 2009
If you plan on ever driving the car hard you should run it in that way, within the first 1000k's your rings are setting into the bore (there is a rough surface in the bore to grind at the rings to set propely which lasts the first 1000k's approx). If you drive like a grandma you will set the rings (piston rings) and bore to run that way...! Leaving sh*t loose and sloppy and minus a couple a few killa waspes... You will actually gain power in the long run by giving your car a flogging in its early stages of life, just don't flog it when cold!!!!!!!! - cannot stress this enough!!!!!!! Looking foreward to Tommorow!!! Can't wait! YEW! gonna rock the Bearded Dragon!

Overnight Cruise - Mt Tamborine Sun 07th June 2009
Hey peeps, just a bit of an update, heres the draft of the Cruise so check it out (if any changes are made it'll prob be minor), its fuggen awesome, but scary on wet roads (please don't rain ). Should be an awesome cruise Starting at Coomera BP, Exit 54 Northbound on the M1. The start time is yet to be confirmed but at this point 11:00am meet for 11:30 depart, there wont be a lunch stop so best bring a light snack, or you should be able to grab something at MacyD's or Nando's at the meet point. For the peeps not staying the night, near the end of the cruise is a Northbound M1 leg, so it would be the perfect point to depart as from there we will be heading straight to The Bearded Dragon, we can expect to be doing that leg by 4pm roughly. Looking foreward to it

Ute Fuel Pump
Maybe you guys arn't cornering hard enough I have a standard fuel system in my BF MkII ute and give it sh*t (@ only 265rw/kW) and notice the lack of fuel in every hard corner, can't wait to get a Process West surge set-up or something similar, just need the dosh. When I had a AFR gauge I did notice it drop from rich back a bit towards Stoich on full accelaration around hard corners (when on full throttle it should stay at rich), it was never anything to worry about as I never had ping from it just power loss... Also maybe its how some people drive, I brake hard and power through corners (noticing the lack of fuel on corner exit). I have run at willowbank and didn't experience any fuel problems in straight line dragging.

Make It Low!
Hey all, Just wondering how you guys have gone with lowering your ute... I'm looking into it. There is a kit on e-bay to lower by 50mm (by Superlow King Springs) for $420.00 is this a good price? Its only $250 for the sedan... How hard is it to fit the leaf springs? (I know how to do the front with the spring compressor etc) Also anyone who has had them fitted, how much etc? Thanks all

Car Alarm
Thanks mate, got onto Black Widow today and will probably end up with one of their systems. The quote I got for anyone else interested was approximately $545 total installed at my house with these functions: multifunction shock sensor (sensitive to glass breakage etc) +$50.00 bonnet switch + $50.00 hard cover read switch + $50.00 immobaliser utilizing standard ford key remote siren apparantly is ok with having a turbo timer - but must be pre-set eg 1min leaniency ????? not sure yet I'm with Just Car insurance and they said they would not give me a discount for having an alarm installed

Car Alarm
Yeah mate your alarm sounds awesome, little more than I was intending to spend though... I am trying to find an alarm suited to an XR6T for a good price, I'm sort of hoping for features including text/phone call when alarm is triggered etc (remote start would be cool) Hey just out of intrest you said you save money on your insurance cost because of your alarm, do you save $300 a year?

I would like to know what alarms people have and the pro's and con's and cost factor etc. Thanks peeps

Brake Calipers Painted
My ute is conquor (dark blue) and I chose red for my brake calipers as I rekon it looks sh*t hot, too hard to try and paint match blue etc ALSO as my turbo badges are red and I have them on the front just behind the front wheels and stuff. Each to their own, I like to be induvidual and try to keep suttle differences between my ute and some other random XR6 T on the street!

Overnight Cruise - Mt Tamborine Sun 07th June 2009
Sup ya'll, did a bit of re-con on the mountain today... but we got side tracked by the Fudge Factory and Witches Cheese Chase. mmmmmmmm CHEESE! Any who there are some great roads and this will be a great cruise, the Bearded Dragon is a very nice looking place but I hope you guys realise it is not up the mountain and doesn't have a view (if that's what you were after), it does however have a big carpark and is surrounded by green farm land and I'm sure they stock plenty of scotch (most importantly). So we are really looking foreward to it! Trent PM comming...

Brisbane Photo Shoot
Hey I'll be keen as for this Cort500, can I get my missus to model for my car? Oh and PLEASE add me to the list of 10... you need that added contrast that only a Conqour (dark blue) Lowndes ute with Tuff bars can bring!!!

Just Bought New Brakes
The quote I got was for slotted DBA 4000 series front and rear and Bendix Ultimate Pads all round, I'm not interested in replacing my standard rotors with standard DBA rotors... I thought the other guys where talking bout slotted too. After much deliberation I think I might go for ; Slotted DBA 5000 series rotors for the front Slotted DBA 4000 series rotors (ventilated) for the rear & Bendix Ultimate Pads all round... Might cost around $900, I'll let ya's know in a couple of weeks when I get em Oh and ravenhard, I did not realise there was a 'Street series'... So does that mean these guys have 'Race series'? because I thought 4000 series was just plain 4000 series... and 5000 series was the more serious option for the more spirited driver...

Warranty Claims
I was smoking a ciggarette whilst driving, as I went to ash it out the window I hit a bump, now because of my STANDARD suspension it caused my hand to raise thus the end of the ciggarette brushed against the front pilar plastic leaving a black mark... I have minor modifications done to the car, but do you think Ford will replace my plastic under warrenty?...worth a try I rekon
