Hey guys a work mate of mine has one of these units http://www.digimoto.com/home.htm Just wondering whether you think it will be compatible with my RSPEC. Apparently it doesn't work on VS V8 or V6 VX/VY/VZ but works with Gen 3 comms. Easy way is just to try it I know but my car is at the doctors at the moment. These type of things wouldn't void warranty would they?

I currently have my car at Ford getting them to check a couple of things for me. The car is currently at roughly 1500kms should I get them to change the oil now or wait until I take it back for the 3000km checkup? This is my first new car so not really sure and after reading the running in thread I guess I should probably change it. Do I tell them to change it to non synthetic or doesn't it matter?

I wouldn't mind knowing this as well. Anyone know? Nice car by the way. Just check that the drivers side headlight is lined up properly.

bit of an add on question to this thread . . . Is everything other than the rotors and calipers the same throughout all model ranges BA/BF? For example is the master cylinder on a BA Xr8 the same as what is on a BFMk2 Typhoon?

I haven't seen the car yet as I don't go back to adelaide until next Thursday but I would imagine they would've only had to have taken the bumper off. The bloke said that they also moved the IC piping about 4mm down to make sure it clears the headlight.

I paid $56,383 on road for mine with tint. There are ones for around low 50s now if you look on the net.

Well the crash repair place just rang me to tell me that it is fixed! Apparently the bottom bolt that holds the headlight to the body wasn't even there! Lazy ford/fpv f*cks! I wonder what other bolts are missing . . . . . . . . . . SCARY!

Well I dropped the car off on Thursday as I was in Adelaide (about 3 hours away from where I live) at the crash repair place. Rang them today but they hadn't started it yet they said that they will have a go tomorrow. It is a pain coz it is so far away I can't just go and check up on it. Hopefully it doesn't come back with more damage. Bit of a let down really as I have only had the car for two weeks and I haven't been able to enjoy it yet. Just hope I am happy with repair if it can even be fixed.........

Surely this has been asked on here or is already a well known fact but just wondering what the actual measurements relate to on the stock F6 boost guage? Just looking at pics of the new F6 and its gauge is marked 0 to 1 bar so I am guessing that is what the BF one is. Also the specs from FPV say that the F6 runs 0.64 bar of peak boost and my guage reads somewhere between half and three quarters I think on the guage under load so that sounds about right as well. Thanks guys.

At the moment I am pretty happy that I got the current BF shape but I am pretty sure that it will be safe to say that the new F6 will crap all over this one seeing how the XR6Ts are now 270kws.

I feel your pain. I too bought a new rspec thinking that I wouldn't have to touch it . . . . . It is at the crash repairers now trying to get a missaligned headlight fixed. It is very hard to say to them to take it back when it is a limited edition model which they have stopped making.

^^Bingo. Doesn't control the ipod just lets you basically stream the music through the stereo.

Just had another look at it and it looks like the rubber hose (not the steel part) towards the centre of the light is touching the headlight. It is definitely different to the other side. I rang up the ford salesman that sold me the car and the service guys are going to ring me tomorrow. I have decided to just get it fixed as it is really sh*tting me. Hopefully all goes well.

I've never had anything to do with the turbos before this so I don't really know what I am looking at but when I had a quick look at it before it looked to be ok. I will have to have a better look tomorrow. Just for when I am looking should there be a definite clearance between the piping and the light? Where are the other mounts for the headlight? Just quickly looking I could only see the one at the top.

Well just tried taking some dodgy pictures with my phone just to show the difference between the two sides. In trying to do this it makes me think whether it is worth worrying about as it was hard to make out the difference in the pictures. If someone doesn't mind can they please have a look at their F6 and tell me if there is a gap on the drivers side or not. I am thinking that maybe the pipe that goes under the battery then under the light is too close or something. Hope these work . . . . . Hard to see in the pictures but the gap is about 1 cm most of the way. However the bumper and guard seem to line up and also the guard and the bonnet seem to line up.

Picked up the car friday late. Found the headlight thingo saturday morning showed them saturday late. Took it back on Monday for them to take a look at. I got them to write it on the file so that it was on record.

Yeah I wondered that but I am hoping not. I will have to take a picture of it tonight and post it up. I just don't know whether I want to pull a part a brand new car. I think that I can live with it . . . . . . . . maybe

After picking up the rspec on Friday I noticed that the drivers side headlight doesnt line up with the bumper properly. It looks like it is pushed back and up a bit. Basically if you grabbed either side of the headlight and rotated it so that the top of the headlight tilted back towards the rear of the car. The top of the headlight is pretty much touching the bonnet and the bottom has a noticeable gap to the bumper when comparing it to the other side. I took it back to ford today and they said that they took it to a crash repair place who apparently advised them that the bumper and quarter panel would have to come off and that they would have to modify the radiator support to change how it looks. At this stage I haven't gone any further with it as I really don't want my new car pulled apart. I had a quick look at the headlight mount on the top of the light and it seems to match the other side. Is it easy to remove the headlight or does the bumper etc have to come off? Has anyone else noticed this problem? I probably won't end up doing anything about it as it really isn't that bad but anyone know a fix?

well just took it for its first real drive today roughly 350 kms back home from picking it up in the city and I have to say that these things are amazingly quick even stock. I can't wait till it is run in properly. Allready has rattles but still pretty impressed. I will try to keep it stock for a while I think and try and keep the warranty.

LOL. True again! So forgetting about warranty then can you just get an exhaust by itself? Not much point if not caring about warranty I know but meh. Edit: Just seen your other above post. Cheers.

True. But I would imagine that they would be a bit more forgiving if it was just the exhaust.

Hey guys quick question. I would like to get a full exhaust done on my new Rspec as it feels way too clinical for me at the moment without sound. Just wondering can I just go and get the exhaust installed just by itself or do I need an edit as well? I would really like to do both at once but I also like to keep my 5 year warranty . . . . Basically by changing the stock exhaust do I then need an edit or will it be fine running the stock tune? Cheers.
