  5. Hey Dario how are you going mate? awesome to see you putting out over 600Kw's @ the wheels and off bottle at that!! And you said you'd be happy with the 450RwKw's when I last saw you, I did think to myself at the time "Yeah right give it a year or so". You'll definatly be able to get into the low ten's easy once you get the setup right, is it a bit harder to setup than with the ute? how does it compare drivability wise to the ute? is it just as brutal? or a bit more refined? Cheers, Aaron
  6. Yeah it was, My wedding got a little out of hand, and I still owe a large sum because of it so If it sells it sells if it doesn't then it goes in my F150 project. I'm not too bothered either way as One way means less bills and the other means more fun for me.
  7. The crap/low MPH are entirely my fault as I had never been to the track before and I was so nervous that I screwed up every run really badly. It also ran out of revs in the top of third before the line and I had to hold the revs just shy of the limiter as I was told not to use the fourth gear overdrive at the track as It just wouldn't handle the power, I was told by the previous owner that It had run (from memory) around a 126-128mph with the old motor and less power(but wider MT E/T's). (frosty) The owner and the magazine article both said it was a HKS T51R, So I'm not too sure as the reaserch I've done seems to point towards it being a garrett although it may have HKS wheels in it? I'll try and remember to ask the ex-owner when I next speak to him. As to the throttle body I have no Idea what a standard one looks like so I wouldn't be able to tell you. (DUS-12) I only recently found out why the APS exhaust wasn't that much of a restriction. I dropped the exhaust out of the ute and the motor had blown open the leading face of the second muffler leaving a large gap at the front of the muffler for the gas to escape instead of having to go through the muffler. I'll take a pic and post it over the naxt couple of days.

    Bye Bye Ute!

The amazing thing is due to the height of the bus the following is the only damage that matters to me. The intercooler has a 1cmx 2.5cm hole in the end tank, the air filter is crushed and the power steering pump pulley is cracked in half and the radiator is shaped like a bannana apart from that all the wires are fine all the intercooler plumbing is fine, all the aircon pipes are fine etc etc. Even the gearbox oil cooler you see hanging from the front plastic reo is perfect just no where to hold it up anymore. Yeah I had agreed value but as I'd just spent $3.5k fixing it I hadn't changed the agreed value to suit so it hurt a little more than it should have. They've been great to deal with both with my experiance and also what all the towies etc. that I've had to deal with have been saying. They even did a full investigation on the claim that was why it took so long to get it back. From my experiance with them I'd give them two thumbs up in their manner of dealing with it. The only problem I kept having was that they kept forgetting that I wanted a wreck retention so I ended up having to pick the ute up from the other side of sydney from the pickles auction yard, but I got it back in the end and that is all that matters.

    Bye Bye Ute!

I worked out what the problem was, Mozilla is playing games again and won't upload any pics, so I'm back to internet explorer.

    Bye Bye Ute!

Yeah I'm really glad no-one was hurt, cars are replaceable but people aren't. One of the main resons I went with shannons insurance was the wreck retention option, My truck should be one of the toughest in aus by the time I'm finished with it. Yeah HANRA they gave me a neg driving fiine $318 and 3 points, I'm not worried about the money but the points suck because of the three year rule. I can't get the photo's to upload it just sits there for over an hour saying "uploading file" any idea's on how I can get them uploaded?

    Bye Bye Ute!

I just recieved my ute back from the insurance company Five weeks after having an accident I've included some pics of the damage. It's a total loss(write-off) but I will be using the running gear, all electrics, air-con, and dash assembly in my project F100 So it will live again albeit in a different form. I had only just picked it up 5mins earlier from the mechanics after having the oil pump and harmonic balancer replaced with atomic performance one's and I had forgoten I still had Shell (bowser)racing fuel and the higher state of tune still in the car at the time and having not driven it for six weeks I was a bit "not on the ball" when she stepped out and I caught my boots under the corner of the brake pedal and could not get off the gas quickly enough resulting in what you see in the photo's. It ended up coming to rest under the back of a bus which is quite amazing because the bus driver didn't even know I'd hit him. I'm telling you this as a bit of a warning/wake up as to how easily it can happen and yes I'm ready for the flaming I'm likely to get for not paying enough attention when hoping back in the ute after a stint not driving it. One thing that really amazed me was that the firebrigade and police officers on the scene said that this is an almost daily occurance in their vehicles with thier workboots catching under the brake pedals and it will only be a matter of time before they have a major high speed accident. Is this a design flaw that may need addressing? & yes I do take full responsability for my actions but I think if this is happening on a regular basis maybe it's worth looking at in the design phase? A,
  13. It's more fun embaressing the euro exotic owners then the local boys, But I haven't had the chance to line up to many unsuspecting drivers yet. Yeah it is, and the exhaust will have to be looked at before making to much more power. Well It was all my fault, I'd never been to the track before so I was very nervous & I had only had the ute about 20Hrs at that point so I was not used to it. I lined up for the first run with it set at about 410rwkw's with 20psi in the ET's, I didn't do a burnout & I took off with out stalling it up on the brakes. The ute comes on boost at 3000rpm and get's to about 16psi by about 40-4100rpm but because I was so nervous I shifted at 4000rpm & then shifted at about 5100rpm for the next two gears and It still ran a 12.9 @ 114.9MPH I think,* Then for the next run I ran it at about 450-460rwkw's ran 15psi in the ET's did a very small burnout but forgot to adjust the line pressures higher in the gearbox . I stalled it up to about 2700rpm and left the line spinning up both the back wheels and the gearbox clutch's and ran a 13.05 at 115.5 I think.* Then for the third and final I left it at 450-460kw's and 15psi did a med burnout adjusted the line pressure to pretty firm Stalled it up to about 3100rpm & left the line in second gear Doh I forgot to shift down after the burnout, It took about a sec & a half between leaving the line, realising what I'd done and fixing it, & I ran what felt like a really quick run but it was only 13.3 @ 118MPH I think* So Basically the ute would have run a 11 no worries if I had of known how to drive it So next time it should run some respectable numbers. As long as I don't f*ck it up again. Aaron, *I'll need to check the slips when I get the ute back.
  14. Not at the moment as it's been in the shop ever since I blew the oil pump up. I'll take a pic once I get it back which should be soon. Aaron,
  15. You can wrap the pump in a insulating rubber/dense foam to reduce the buzzing even further if it gets too loud for you.
