G'day, Yep Country Road, Night time, oncoming car which ran down the centre of the road rather than move off just a little. So I ran wider then normal found the gravel that sits on the tarmac but not off the road surface. WHich became a tightish corner where the corner build up of crap was deeper. Locked up both left hand side tyres in the crap, went sideways , and after a short slide at an angle the left rear stopped moving as it went into the graded drain ditch berm at the side of the road which rotated the whole car with momentum and upside down we go! THe rest well its in the pics..... THe actual roll over was low speed, all I got was a cut knuckle from the glass from the windscreen, and the car ended upside down. My failing was brake control when less than optimum surface was available, my reaction was to brake and steer slowly when in the gravel yet my braking force was too much anyway. Then having gone into a skid / slide countersteered (which left really funny marks on the road) just ran out of room. I was travelling about 20 km/h below the posted limit on an unfamiliar road at night (with driving lights on however) at the time of the accident, but honestly mainly because the car wouldn't do the speed limit after the corners and big hill just before  The thing is the car coming the other way stopped and told the police that I was hooning (their words) but fortunately for me the car that was behind me said I wasn't and that the oncoming car failed to move over and forced me wide! Phew! That's about the only accident I've had in my own car or bike. Amazing what you find when you are having a new years clean up! Long post sorry! Cameron

G'day, My Car did this recently, I was told it was my VCT modules entering adjustment mode and not letting the ECU know early enough so it goes "splut splut " then stops No Error code either as its something the engine is supposed to do (not the stall the cleaining or adjustment) Only happened the once to me... I bought Myself a iPod, 30gb for $799, But I've actually run out of CD's to turn into music and I've still got space left. I also picked up the Belkin Car Charger kit for it so the battery no longer goes flat before the music is complete. However I required the Aux Input for it to connect. But there probably are other ways, such as a FM Radio type mp3 capable CD Stackers. Not advertising but for example the bottom of the three FM Modulated stackers on this link is MP3 CD Compatible and has a remote and will work obviously with your current ICC and best of all requires very little cutting or changing of your consoles and can be moved from car to car. http://www.kenwood.com.au/car2.asp?gid=1&cid=47 As for a permanent MP3 Capable Stereo it would somehow have to be intergrated into the ICC to work in the manner you mention. I think that's something that's been convered in other threads to do with Stereo upgrades. Cameron

Horses for courses bascially, Every person will choose what kind of car they like and what kind of engine. I know I did! Just from being in the car scene, I know that your 11,000rpm Rotary will produce bulk power (proportionally) and yes it is the worlds smoothest with the Quarter Standing upright. But The fact I have to rebuild it at 10,000kms (which three of my friends have done after having High RPM High Boost HIgh Power 13b's put into S2 RX7's and an RX2.) makes me think that more progress needs to be made. The Renesis Rotary motors are much more eco friendly and produce good power and they don't work anywhere near as hard as 22,000 RPM. However at the Sydney motor show the Lexus LS430 was revvved to its redline, 6800 (AFAIK) and a 50c piece didn't fall over. And as its a V8 and even sounds a little like one under throttle, it gets my vote! Rotaries also rarely find their way into large cars, Mazda Roadpacer anyone? Because when they do they "SUCK" Efficiency and Effortlessness do sometimes go hand in hand and some people just don't care how good or bad the power per Litre figure is. All you gotta do is enjoy the car you've chosen! Brrm Brrm! Cameron

G'day all, Just an update for anyone who has or knows about this problem. From day one my XR has suffered from extreme engine speed related noise through the premium sound system, being worse on AUX, down to AM , and again to FM, and very little but still present on CD. It has been back to the dealer on five occasions to have this fault fixed. The last visit prompted an EDRS to be sent to Ford Technicians, as it is now 4.5 months since I bought (and reported the fault) I decided to ring up 13FORD again to find out what is going on. I was told that Customer Care was aware that Engineering was looking at it, and that my car is the worst that the dealer or the Engineer's had ever heard . More to the point due to the close down of the factory over the Xmas / New Year period, There isn't likely to be a fix until January. However the Customer Service Manager, who I asked for directly, did indicate to me that a "FIX" will be available in the last week of January. Finger's crossed that this will actually turn up! Seems to be an Archaic way of fixing something, My preferred method would be to replace the components that make up the stereo one by one until you find it! Not make the customer wait 6 months for something to be done! I know that costs come into it but c'mon 6 months? If the Midi Stereo system bought from GB's or DJ's or Harvey Norman gets a broken tape deck, they dono't make you keep the broken unti while they work out how to fix the tape part, they replace the whole unit. I know Ford won't replace the whole car, but geez its bits of the stereo they need to sort out! Rant End Cameron

Can't say, It was the northern end of Gininderra Drive, waiting in a side street coming onto whatever road takes you from the north end of Gininderra Drive back to Northbourne? Moaut or something? Anyway about 6 or 7 cars back from the front..... I got good eye sight for Nice lookin T's! (ok ok or Xr6's) Still got the Good drive in, did my visit, then went back to Sydney Via Cowra Orange, Bathurst , and Kurrajong (bells line) And somehow still managed to get 9.9 and 10.7 l/100km for the two tanks Not too shabby! The car bra did well, looks like a small insect farm at the moment, and if it would stop raining I would take the thing off so I can clean it properly. Cameron Wishing the Inside Sport GT would be his (but realistic)!!

Firstly, can you get Red plates white writing in the ACT, and if so Hello whoever in Canberra has an XR6/XR6Turbo with them. If not, Hello to whoever it was from NSW (I think it could only have been a NSW) driver who was near Gininderra Drive ACT on Monday around 6pmish! Typical All these ACT Turbo's and never one around when you are bored and need something to do! Cameron!

G'day, Haven't touched Optimax for my Turbo since I spent $600 bucks getting the injectors on my bike cleaned after putting the three first fuel fills of optimax into it. The detergents that are (were) in the Optimax fuel disagreed completely with the bike. Therefore there is no way I will ever again use Optimax in a Fuel Injected vehicle. *Overreaction in Progess* On the flip side however, Optimax makes a difference vs Synergy 8000 (mobil) in a Non HP carby'd car, so I coulda been unlucky. I have heard a lot of motorcyclists say that Optimax is not "bike" friendly. Rumors! Need the facts I guess. Cameron

G'day Chris, That's really odd because I am Insured with AAMI, and I am only 25. $1142 Per Year for Northern Sydney. I would suggest that you ring up again and see what they say. I know for a fact that they fully understand what kind of car I have because I faxed the whole Dealer Invoice to them so that they could see the cost of the extras I chose. When and if you ring up ask for a supervisor more and more recently the person on the other end of the phone is just a drone who can only talk about certain things. Good Luck Chris! Cameron

Im Hurt :( Genuinely Hurt! :( Not even a newbie either! Here I was thinkin that the brother (and sister Miss XR and Miss Kitty  )hood of XR's was all as one! First Ken bars me from coming on a cruise on a motorbike, (which Miss XR then cancels for me so I can have time to get my wheels and tyres back in one piece), and now he's being really really really mean about my colour choice! Oh I'm SO "FRUSTRATED" My life is over, I can't handle owning a purple car anymore! Da mn my bikes sorta purple too! Bother! What colour is that GT Inside Sport Magazine is giving away again? P00 Brown! that's it I need a p00 brown Datto! Then I would REALLY be in Ken's good books! How about it Ken? Brown 120Y coupe good enough ? Apparently they do 151 past speed cameras! Cameron

Ken's back! I've been waiting ages to say Who Killed Kenny! you ! I don't recall the previous two weddings I've done having HgAg there! Far too much class for that........... Let's see Oh yes that's right; Wedding One: Phantom, & Silhouette. Wedding Two: Phantom, Blueprint, Venom, and Acid Rush. Hmmm It aint a Taxi Service! No HgAg ! However if Phantom it must be, then Phantom I have  PM on site for details etc.... Ken, No hard feelings! Im sure Silver Service Taxi's might call if they have a need in case of emergency. Cameron *tongue firmly in cheek*

The biggest problem is that the clock itself is oval, I believe that it is a carry over from the AU !! I don't know of any oval boost gauges anywhere! I do know you could get a small (and im talking really small) round boost gauge and then "fill" in any of the left over bits. I got myself the clock for a few reasons. One I generally have the ICC screen turned off, and as the clock is in the ICC normally, I wanted a clock I could always read. Two, For whatever reason it seems to me that because I wear polarising sunglasses I couldn't read the ICC anyway unless I tilt my head sometimes so I could read the screen! Be warned the colour of the clock illumination and the plastic surround it comes with is not the same as the silvery ICC on your XR's As mentioned earlier there are possibly two base plastic colours the clock comes in, I am not sure what colour mine is, its close to the rest of the dashboard mind you. G'day All, I have the clock in my car, My car has Premium sound, and the wiring is NOT there for the clock to simply plug in. It will and does require aftermarket wiring. It doesn't light up blue, and I couldn't see an easy way of changing it either. Its/white with red needle. Cameron
