Was looking at 275/35/19 for the rear and was looking at a 245/40/19 for the front to match the diameter of the 275. I don't really want to go to a 295-305 simply because I would need the control arm mod wouldn't I? and a 265 wouldn't match a 275 rear. I agree though, I'm not a fan of the stretch look. I was looking at the 19x9.5 for the front because the wheels I am considering are concave in the 9.5 and flat in the 8.5. So simply considering the 19x9.5 for the concave look. Can you get a 275/35/19 (not 275/30/19) on the front with stock suspension and no rubbing? And if so, what offset? +28?

Anyone able to help?

Ok guys, I'm looking to fit a set of 19x9.5s all round to my FG MkII XR6T. The car is on stock suspension and the guards aren't rolled. I would like to fit 245/40/19 fronts and 275/35/19 rears rather than 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. The wheels I am looking at have customisable offset. So my question is - what offset will I need so there is no rubbing? +30 front and +40 rear? Thanks in advance.

^^^^^ Running 19x8.5 + 35 on the front and 19x9.5 +42 on the rear.

Is anyone running 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 on FG mkII?
-
I am not a fan of black wheels either. Gun metal are fine but you can't see the detail with a black wheel. What is the point in spending good money on a wheel and then not being able to see what it looks like? You may as well put a set of chasers on.

Thanks for the replies. I will have to check how much room I have. I am not overly fussed on minor differences in grip as it is my wife's daily so it has plenty of grip 99% of the time. I am more trying to match tyre diameters as it has thrown a DSC fault which I put down to the tyre sizes.

I am trying to match the diameter of my fronts (245/35/19) more closely. I am currently running 275/35/19 Nitto's on the rear. What is it more likely to hit? Inner or outer?

Quick question... 285/30/19 on 19x9.5 +42 on the rear of an FG sedan, yay or nay with no guard/suspension work?
-
Can you please explain why that would be the case? I assume because the diametre is much smaller than the 275. Edit: Why would you go a 305/25? Is that what people run when they got 305's? Wouldn't 305/30 be better?

Ok guys, I did a quick search but couldn't come up with anything recent so I thought I would ask again.... How much, driveaway, did you pay for your new mkII XR6T? Obviously only post if you are happy for everyone to see it. Please outline any options included in your price. Cheers

I think you will find a set of 8.5" wheels will have the same track as a set of 9.5" wheels if both sets have the same offset as the track is measured from the centre of the rim/tyre. Where the corners of the rims sit is a different matter.
-
If you aren't worried about the legalities of a spacer then you probably aren't worried about the legalities of increasing the track.

Would it be possible for me to be made active again?

Ok guys, I just got myself a new FG mkII XR6T sedan. I have started reading this thread but 2000 posts takes a while. I am probably looking at a 19x8.5 and 19x10 combination running 245/35/19 and 285/30/19. What offset range should I be looking at to sit close to the guards but not foul on them and without rolling? I'm not interested in doing work to the guards or running spacers etc. Is it possible to get a 10" rim with a 285 on the rear of an FG sedan without guard rolling or suspension clearance issues? Also why does everyone seem to run 275 on the rear when 285/30/19 are a better match to 245/35/19?

Have you considered a $10 battery operated LED light that just sticks under the hardtop? that's what I had on my old ute and work a treat. Didnt look too bad either

Hi mate Its not all that heavy to move around. I can move it myself quite easily. I think from memory it weighs around 300kg but I could be wrong. To be honest it would probably be cheaper for you to buy mine and swap the tubs then sell the BA tub. I would assume it would be basically a straight swap for the tubs. Are you from NSW? If so do you know it will cost you about $500 to get a new trailer registered for the first time. Probably more now. It took me a couple of days just to get the rego sorted. If you are to build one you have to find wheels (prob $400+ depending on what you get), all the steel, axle, hubs, springs, time, wiring, jack, tool box, weigh bridge ticket, blue slip, rego etc etc. If you bought mine you could probably have it setup as an FG for $900 depending on what you get for the BA tub. Mine comes with rego until the end of june.

Well guys, I have decided to sell the trailer now. Is anyone interested in it?

Dont forget that you get the $2k rebate, so it would be around $2000 to recoup not $4000. Depending on how many km you do, you should recoup that in a year. You just need to do your sums to see if its worthwhile for you.

Mate dont think about converting, if you get a Falcon just do it. I have my BA XLS converted to LPG with an SVI system. It is very worthwhile doing it. To answer you questions: 1- With my system, there is very little power difference between LPG and petrol. You can really only tell when you are really pushing it and even then there isnt much difference. 2- You can get tanks that go in the boot behind the seat or you can get a donut tank that goes in the spare wheel well. I think they range in size from around 50 litres to 60 litres. I have a 60 litre tank in my ute. 3- I get around 400km+ from my 60 litre tank. 4- At current prices its about $40 to fill the tank. The biggest thing I can suggest if you are considering a conversion is to do your research. Not only on the system, but also the installer. Make sure you get a good installer that knows what they are doing. A bad system installed very well beleive it or not is probably better than a good system installed poorly. $3700 sounds good if it is an SVI (Sequential Vapour Injection) system which is what I would recommend. Mine cost $4000 around 2 years ago. I wouldnt recommend an old style mixer system on a BA or newer unless you do engine mods or go factory Egas (which is nothing special).

I personally think that they should be drumming this fact home harder and really give it to the other Aussie made cars. Name them, tell people that the Falcon is safer and better than the Late model camira and Aurion. Stress that it is the ONLY 5 star car built in Oz.
-
I voted 50/50 work and pleasure as its my daily driver but I also use it to tow my ute back trailer so I probably could have voted for that as well.
-
Mine is BA XLS Ute. I know, not a turbo but what can you do. Narooma Blue and 5 Spd. This is what I have done to it - SR Front Bar, SVI LPG Conversion, Custom Cat Back Exhaust, 18" Wheels, Sports Bars, Typhoon Intake, Tripod Gauge Pod and Window Tint. I also have a Ute Back Trailer/Camper.

As has been said, why not just go to a locksmith. They should be able to help out. that's what I did when I changed the locks on my hardtop.
